Tea and Coffee Bar

I have always wanted a place especially for my Tea and Coffee. This is what I came up with.
It was an empty wall over a cabinet that holds the short but rather large hot water heater.

My hubby likes instant coffee, so that's his, I don't care for it myself.

I love the black and white French Country look, with a touch of blue ,so that's what I am going for.

I always sit or stand and stare at the things I am doing and most times I have to go back and change something, so this may need a little something added or taken away. For now I'll just enjoy it.

Well I am off to visit my doctor for a check up !

Have a cup of Tea (or Coffee)
and a
Blessed Day!

Sunday Morning Inspiration

"Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face;
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim
In the light of His glory and grace."
-Lemmel

I want the love that sweetly bears
What ever my Father's hand may choose to send;
I want the love that patiently endures
The wrongs that come from enemy or friend.

Be Blessed on this the Lord's Day!

Return to my Sisters Garden

I had an opportunity to visit my sister's garden again this week, my how everything had grown and filled out since my last visit a couple weeks ago.
Let's walk around and see it again.

This "Welcome" sign is at the top of the driveway before going up the steps to the upper part of her yard.

Let's go up the steps!

We find the Japanese Maples so full of beautiful colored leaves!

Petunia's and Dusty Miller.

Looking up from her covered patio if you look to the right of the Japanese Maple you can see a pretty yellow native azalea.

The swing is a quiet serene place to sit and hear the birds singing as the squirrels scamper along  the grass.

Just behind the swinging frog, you can see a yellow "Lady banks rose climbing upwards.

Have a Beautiful and Blessed Day!

Afternoon in the Park

We spent most of the afternoon yesterday, with my sister and her husband. They wanted to go to the park in town where they live. I had a post-op appointment, with good results from my surgery last week, so we left shortly after it to pick them up at their house, and off to the Park we went.
That's my hubby on the left and my brother-in-law
on the right bench. (Don't know why they aren't sitting together).

The park is across from Mercer University in Macon, Ga. You can see some of the buildings
through the trees in the background. We found some benches in the shade and sat there watching the college students come and go and some where playing tennis nearby.
I hadn't been to this park since I lived here when my girls were young,we would take them there to play, but they don't remember.

I love this fountain. It's sits right near the middle of the park.

We sat near this tree in the shade of it and some other trees. I was amazed at it, so large with it's limbs spread out wide.
Wouldn't a swing be great hanging from it's branch!

The pink dogwoods had already bloomed but we found a few blooms still lingering on it branches.

We didn't know what to think of this!
I thought it looked like a small camper up on a pole.....what do you think....art work maybe.

This is a beautiful tree with it's scraped looking trunk, no bark on it at all.

Let's find a shady bench and sit awhile longer and enjoy the birds singing, want you join me!

Have a Blessed Day!

What I Am UP Too !

I have been painting !
This is the before and after of the back railing, that goes to the Patio. There is a slight slope, so us "olden" folk needed something to hold on to.

This is the before and after of the front steps railings.  After we moved in the first of the year our Son-in-law and grandsons built these railings for us. God Bless them!
Now the porch needs painting, but it will have to wait.

In the bottom right corner of this photo, a pot was broken in half , so I laid it on the ground on the broken side, then planted begonias at the top of it...I've seen this done before and when it has grown, it looks really pretty.

Here I have several potted plants and a hanging basket of an asparagus  fern. I have a double hanging pole but can't decide if I want flowers or ferns to hang on it.
For now I have a camper bird house on one side and a teapot- teacups chime on the other.

I always have to have some Moss Rose in my garden, here it is, still in it's pot from the nursery, hopefully I'll get it planted soon.

I do enjoy a beautiful garden but mine has a long way to go...to be beautiful! It takes time and this is the first year for this little one. I won't be able to do much in it for a couple of weeks..

Next week I will be having surgery.
I will be away for awhile from blogland, I hope to be able to visit your blog post. Please forgive me if I don't. I'll be back soon.

Be Blessed,
Until Next Time!

Pine Tree Crosses

Have you ever looked at the Pine tree when it started to put on knew growth!
I read this several years ago and wanted to share it.
After you read this story from an unknown author,
you will never look at the Pine tree again in the same way!

Last Spring on a Sunday afternoon we took one of our "nowhere" drives thru the country. My husband was quietly driving along some back roads. I was occupied in the front passenger seat watching out the window as the scenery went by.
I noticed out of the corner of my eye that my husband was straining to look out my window. This startled me, since his eyes should be on the road in front of him. I asked him what he was looking at out the windows, and he quietly replied, "Nothing. " He could have said he was looking for pine tree crosses for Easter. His eyes went back to the road in front of him.
After a few minutes, I looked over at my husband and noticed a tear running down his cheek. I asked him what was wrong. This time he told me, "I was just thinking about Pop and a story he had once told me." Of course, because it had to do with his Pop I wanted to know the story, so I asked him to share Pop's story with me.
He said, "When I was about 8 years old, Pop and I were out fishing and that's when he told me that the pine trees know when it is Easter."
I had no idea what he meant by that, so I pressed him for more information.
He continued on... "The Pine trees start their new growth in the weeks before Easter -- if you look at the tops of the Pine trees two weeks before Easter, you will see the yellow shoots. As the days get closer to Easter Sunday, the tallest shoot will branch off and form pine tree crosses for Easter. By the time Easter Sunday comes around, you will see that most of the Pine trees will have small yellow crosses on all of the tallest pine shoots."
I turned to look out the window and I couldn't believe my eyes. It was a week before Easter, and you could see all of the pine trees with the tall yellow shoots stretching to Heaven.
The tallest ones shone in the sunlight like rows of tiny golden crosses.

"In everything Give Thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you."
1 Thessalonians 5:18

Every morning I give thanks to God, for another day to enjoy His blessings. Family, friends, nature and a new sunrise. God has blessed us with so much beauty, we just need to stop and look around us to see it.
Find joy and Beauty in this day
