A Blessed Day

The sky is still cloudy from a weekend of rain that we got from the storm on the Georgia coast, so it's a cool day.  I have my grandson, Joshua, with me today and tomorrow.  My husband has COPD so it's hard at times for him to cut the 2 acres of grass we have. I do help at times but Joshua loves riding the lawn mover.  I am so blessed to have grandchildren that don't mind helping out.




I think he is having too much fun... He'll be 13 in a couple months. Sometimes when he's here he just rides it for fun without the blades down.







Here he is in the front yard cutting as I noticed my Bee Balm is just opening up.  I love it when it blooms, the humming birds do to, only they pick it to pieces from getting the necter out of it.  See how tall the one on the right is, but it hasn't opened up yet.




Here is one of my Knock out roses re-blooming, I love that they bloom all summer.

    I'm visiting from Michele's blog and will be back again. Aren't grandchildren just the best prize for having been a mother? Your grandson is probably just practicing for when he learns to drive a car. Your roses are very pretty. I used to have bee balm but it doesn't come up any more.

      Thanks Gretchen, yes grandchildren are the greatest, I am blessed with 6 of them. Joshua can't wait until he can drive. His brother turns 16 next week and is in the drivers Ed class now. He already drives me around...which is nice.

    I'm part of the welcoming friends from Michele's blog too! That's great that Joshua helps you with the yard cutting, I bet he's a good grandson! I tried to grow bee balm in San Diego but no luck. I think I'll have to try again after seeing yours. Looking forward to seeing more of your wonderful blog, welcome!

      Thanks for visiting Jody, I planted the bee balm and then planted Hosta in the same bed and now the hosta is taking over the bed. I love to watch the hummingbirs on it. Do try planting it again.

    I too saw you on Micheles blog. Isn't she just the greatest! And I want to welcome you to blogland. There are so many wonderful people here. You will LOVE this community. I've been blogging just 6 months and have loved every minute of it. And I know you will too.

    You have a beautiful yard. Two Acres. Wow that is just wonderful but I know alot of work too. And what a special grandson to help you out. We have 18 grandsons but only a few live around here. And whenever we need help they are here for us. What would we do without our wonderful families.

      Nann, how blessed you are with 18 grandsons, you must get lots of help. They are so precious, doesn't it thrill your heart when they say "Grandma".
      Thanks for welcomeing me to blogland and yes Michele is great, I haven't met her in person, but have been Tea Friends with her for several years on another site.
      I am still learning about blogging and enjoying it.

    Visiting you from Nest at Finch Rest and now following you. These pictures make me miss our old house. We had a big yard, and I loved the riding lawn mower!

      oh I'm sorry about the verification, I wasn't aware of that but certainly will find it and turn it off. Thanks for letting me know.
      I do love working in the yard but not able to do as much as I would like.
