Apparently they know that some eggs just aren't able to hatch for whatever reason. I guess you could call it a birdie miscarriage. So sad. But nature has a way of taking care of its own. What a lovely little nest. I wonder...Dear Sylvia, <br /> What a lovely little nest. I wonder what happened to that little mother. So sad when that happens. We have a little wren that makes a nest on our propane tank every spring. All during the spring we hear the babies cheeping and then we watch as their mommy teaches them to fly.
