Summer's End

I recently visited my sister, I always love her garden, they are usually full of pretty flowers and trees that have color.  Now that it's about time for summer to be over, the flowers have mostly faded.

And greenery is all around. Inside where the large butterfly has landed is a swing to sit and enjoy a much needed time to catch up on days gone by.

With all the feeders around, there usually lots of birds to admire.

The yellow Canna Lillies have bloom pretty but are beginning to fade also.

There's a bench to sit and rest awhile.

Of course the Georgia Bulldog has to guard the door to the patio!

Today I thought since I was in a somber mood, I will stop by the roadside on my way home and pick up a watermelon.

My daughter gave me this watermelon teapot, she thought I would enjoy it.  I do, it was perfect with my real watermelon.

HAVE A BLESSED DAY!
Sylvia

Lovely series of photos. The garden looks like a wonderful place to have a cup of tea. We only get little balls of watermelon here in New Zealand. I miss the huge, heavy ones from the States.

Love the teapot! And the watermelon! I know what you mean about summer's end...the flowers are getting tired of showing off their beautiful colors! We've had a lot of rain lately, so things haven't had a chance to rebloom much. But, the best part of your little story is you spent time with your sister...and I am going to do the same thing this Saturday, with MY sister at HER garden! She is the real gardener in the family, so I can't wait to take some pictures of HER gardens! Maybe I will do a similar post!
The other best thing is, fall is on it's way! My kind of weather!
Thanks for sharing!

What a lovely garden and delicious watermelon.

Love that teapot - your daughter is so thoughtful.

I am holding onto summer - it's still quite hot here today and I am in no hurry when Autumn is all of Sept, Oct and Nov - ya know? Why rush it?

Hugs.
