Friday Foto Friends and Park Friends

A few of the photo's I took this morning while I was walking at our local park.

We'll rest awhile here and watch the Geese.

Oh, they think we have food for them!

Sorry little friends, but no food today!

Can't you still stay awhile and visit?

 Next time I'll bring food!

I'll sit here awhile and look at the fountain with the pretty rainbow in it!

Hope you enjoyed the geese, I love to hear them when they fly and make their honking noise!

Have a Blessed Day!

Finding Pokemon

There's a new craze going around. It's no longer finding Nemo or finding Dory. It's a game where you use your phone and go around everywhere and I mean  everywhere,  even in graveyards to find a "POKEMON"!

 Internet Photo

Yesterday started out quiet, hubby and I drove to our favorite State Park (FDR) and was about to have lunch nearby when I got a phone call from my grandson..he wanted to know if his Papa and I wanted to go to Indian Springs State Park with them. Of course, even if we were an hour's drive west of were they were, and drive another hour east to the park.

  Internet Photo

Now I love my grandkids and would do anything for them, well almost. Did I tell you that I LOVE my grandkids. We drove the hour to pick them up, well 3 of them, then another hour to Indian Springs. On the way we discovered the reason for this trip.....to find Pokemon's..yep...remember I said 'even in grave yards'..... I learned the night before they had my daughter,Susan, take them to the Confederate grave yard a few miles from their house.

My sweet Morgan, doesn't play this game so she and I spent time together talking and taking photo's.

Now Papa did go down to the well where people come to fill gallons of jugs with the spring water, that is known to be healthy for you. This is where the Cherokee Indians came in the past, many years ago to get their water.
Morgan and I didn't want to walk down the  flight of stairs.

The boys, JC and Joshua, did find a few moments from the game to have fun with these pipes left here from some construction work. Each got at a end and hollowed into it...fun for them for a little while then I drove them all over the park seeking to capture more 'pokemon's'.

The lake was down a bit from it's normal level.

On to another area nearby!
Dauset Trails Nature Center

Papa,Morgan and myself sat in the air conditioned car while the boys walked the trails, looking for pokemon's. You see they show up on your phone (game app) as you walk.

They would say "stop grandma, here's one"!!
Now it seems you should be walking to capture one, so I would stop or slow down to a walking speed. Oh I did say that I would do ''anything'' for them. I think Papa was getting a little tired of this, but on we went.

I drove them all over High Falls State Park which is only a few miles from Indian Springs but in a different County.

Finally after 2 hours they said they were hungry.
We took them to Wendy's!  After hamburger and Frosty's, it was time to take them home.

We really did enjoy our day, after all you can't miss having fun with grandchildren!

 Internet Photo

And I did miss them!
I even tried to get Morgan and JC to spend the night with us since their parents were off to Waco,Texas to celebrate their anniversary, and guess where they went.!!

Yes, that's Chip and Joanna Gaines!
If you watch HGTV you can't have missed there show "Fixer Upper".  My favorite show on HGTV. The show was there filming and they waved to them from the top of this building.  This is at Magnolia Market at the Silos..My daughter took this photo, and text it to us.

Hope your Day is Blessed!

Peaceful Blessings

"To be blessed by the Lord...
To be Kept by the Lord...
To feel His radiant face
shining upon me...
To know His Gracious Grace
was being bestowed upon me...
To know the Beauty of His Divine
countenance beholding my face...
and to be given His peace, which
passes all understanding.

Early Morning Visitor's

Love sitting on the porch early in the morning.
While sitting there this morning I had a few visitor's.

My neighbor's cat always sleeps in our yard,it had just woke up when I came out to sit and enjoy the cool morning air before the heat of the day.

Every morning while I am on my porch, this squirrel  comes running down the road and up the tree in our yard, today it stopped to say 'hello'.

I bring Madi out with me and she sits watching as the street sweeper comes. She doesn't like loud noisey trucks and usually barks, but today it went the other direction.

A bird flew up on the very tip of the tree, it's so light that it didn't even move the limb.

Have a Blessed Day!

Trip to Peach Farm

On Monday hubby and I decided to visited a peach farm nearby that we hadn't been to before. We picked up a friend to go with us, she is a recent widow and doesn't get out much. They sell ice cream too! I got a strawberry ice cream cone, she and my hubby got the peach cone.

Of course I had to get some peaches also. Yesterday I made a cobbler out of them.

After filling our bowls, this is all that was left.

Looks like the two of us ate a lot! We did!

Peach Cobbler is one of my favorite desserts and of course it is even better with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream.

Here is my recipe if you would like it.

Peach Cobbler

1 stick butter
Sliced peaches
1 cup Flour
1 cup sugar
1 tsp. salt
2/3 cup milk

Place butter (I use real butter) in baking dish at 350 degrees and melt .
Mix flour, sugar, salt together, add milk and stir well.
Pour into baking dish over butter.
Place peaches in mixture but do not stir.
Bake 35 to 45 minutes at 350 degrees.

When I use can peaches I use a large can. When using fresh peaches,I use 5 or 6 large peaches.

Enjoy and have a Blessed Day!

Living Life

Have you ever thought of how your life effects others; really meditated on it, not that we should live to please everyone, but wouldn't it be a good thing if each of us treated others the way we want others to treat us.  I believe there would be lots of people that would take notice.

Luke 6:31
"Just as you want men to do to you;do also to them"

In my devotion this morning a professional author was asked by a young author advice on writing. He was told to write the book that you would want to find on a shelf.
What if we all applied this advice in our daily life this day and time when there are so much choas going on around us. Wouldn't it bring calm and peace to our hearts and souls.

Our Savior wants us to have a lifestyle of mercy.
Luke 6:27-36
" Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you"

Yes, it is impossible in our own strength, but with God's help and guidance we can accomplish great things!

"All the way my Savior leads me~
What have I to ask beside?
Can I doubt His tender mercy,
Who through life has been my Guide"
~Crosby~

Wouldn't it be great if everyone would start today allowing Christ to live through us.

May your Day be Blessed!

Celebrating the 4th for America's Independence Day, was lots of fun with family and friends.
There were about 25 that gathered at my daughter's home for lots of hamburgers and hot dogs, and table full of food and deserts.

The fireworks were a great big hit. My daughter's brother-n-law and family came up from Florida and brought a trunk load of fireworks.
Here are a few photo's that I took with my camera, it doesn't do them justice, the sky was lite up!

Even Ellie, the family dog, enjoyed it and got into the spirit with her neck/head band!

Being Useful

When my granddaughter was a toddler,my hubby would call her "Tigger" , because she loved to hop and jump around.

When you're young you can do lots of things that you may not be able to do when you get older.
There are always things we Can do.

We can be useful in any season of our life, even though we may not be able to do the same things we did when we were young.
We may begin to feel useless and hopeless, there is one thing that we can all still do.

1 Corinthians 13:13
And now abideth faith, hope, love, these three but the greatest of all these is Love.
Love is one thing we all need and can be given to others in need, at any age.
We can all show love, by our actions and our words.

"They shall still bring forth fruit in old age";
Psalms 92:14a

Another way to be useful and encouraged is to pray, not only for ourselves but for others.

"Continue in prayer and watch in the same with thanksgiving"
Colossians 4:2

Praying for others not only helps others but helps us stay close to our heavenly father.

Begin the day with God;
Kneel down to Him in prayer;
Lift up your heart to His abode,
And seek His love to share~
Dann

"O Lord cleanse my heart and fill it with your love, that I may share it with others today"
Amen

May your day be blessed with Love

Walking in my Sunny Yard

These days are so hot now that I don't get outside as much as I would like. Yesterday I did venture out for a walk around the yard to see how things were growing.

It was a clear sky day and the Rose of Sharon
was so pretty, I love the color.

The Petunia hanging basket is growing and spreading.

The Moss Rose also is growing.
      I love Moss Rose!

This is the pretty Pink Crape Myrtle in my neighbor's yard, but I can see it from my back patio.

Can you see it?
 (across the street)

So the plants are doing good in the mid to high 90's temperatures.
We are enjoying our new neighborhood.

I put this photo on Facebook, thought I would include it here also. I do a lot of porch sitting.

I do try to count my blessings everyday.
 Every day is a blessings!

These are rockers on the screen porch in the cabin we stayed in at FDR State Park, our favorite park to visit and stay in. I love Front Porch Rocking!

Have a Blessed Day!
