Pumpkins Memories of the Past.

Things we've done together,
Memories of the Past,
Happy times
and thoughts we've shared,
These are things that last...

Here are a few pictures of my granddaughter, Morgan when she was around 2 1/2 .

These are my memories today as I look back when I took care of my granddaughter from the time she was 6 weeks old until she was 4 years old, while my daughter worked.  There was  4 of us ladies that would get together for play dates.

This is my daughter, Debbie, with her infant son JC and daughter Morgan.  Also with them is my grandson, Joshua, he is 8 months younger than Morgan. JC is now 11, Morgan and Joshua are 14.  When I took care of them, everywhere we'd go people thought they were twins.  I'd have to say "No, they're cousins".

This is Morgan at her church's Trunk or Treat Festival last Sunday.

A FALL PORCH AND TEA

Fall is still in the air but it is feeling a lot like winter in the early mornings.  Hubby and I have been working in the yard and rebuilding the porch to his shop.  We moved the swing from the back porch and hung it between two trees.

Milo was so excited he ran up the tree when we had finished hanging it.

We are enjoying sitting in it when we are outside.

Of course he had to help us bring  everything out of the shop so we could organize it when we put it back inside.

This is  after we rebuilt the porch. It was 8ft. x 16ft.  We rebuilt it to 4ft x 8ft.  I have  placed some more mums on the porch since I took these photo's.  As you can see there is more yard work to be done.

I put a window planter with mums under the window.

I had to decorate the shop with "Pic Monkey" along with my pot of mums.

Afterwards I made myself a cup of Orange Pekoe Tea and had a sugar cookie with sprinkles on it and used my scarecrow plate, for the child in me.

Have a Blessed Fall Day!

A Fall Outdoor Wednesday

I enjoy going to small towns and see all the sidewalks decorated for the different seasons.  It just makes my day.  Here are a few photo's that I took when we visited the little town of Pine Mountain this week.

TEA ROOM CLOSING

Oh No, my favorite local Tea Room, The August Moon Tea Room and Pretty Things Gift Shoppe, is closing!  I have been taking my daughter's and granddaughters to this great and beautiful Tea Room for years.  Ms. Maggie is retiring and having a Liquidation/Estate Sale on November 22,23.  November 2 will be the last day she'll be open for business.

It is full of hats, gloves and other items that you can wear during your Tea and she will be selling it all.

I have bought many a tea cup and teapot in the Pretty Things Gift Shoppe.

I recently had a "Back to School" tea with my daughter and granddaughters.

My granddaughter,Anna brought her friend Jenny, this was her first time going to a tea room.  I was happy to bring her . She loved it.

My granddaughter's love the grilled cheese sandwiches.

My favorite is the Almond Chicken Sandwich with the broccoli salad and fruit cup.

I will surely miss the pleasure of going to the August Moon!
Best of luck, Ms. Maggie

My New Tea Bag Keeper

When out shopping with my sister, Doris, on Tuesday, we went into Kirkland's, at the mall.  We had walked over the store at least twice and was about to leave when I spotted this little box sitting on a shelf.  I was so excited when I saw the word  "Tea" on the side. Guess it doesn't take much to get me excited or maybe it was just because it said 'TEA".

Of when I got home I had to put tea bags in it.  It only holds three different kinds, but that's ok

.
The best part was it was on sale for only $3.99

Love it when I can find things at good prices.

Hope your day is Tea-lightful!

Relaxing Weekend

Sunday was a  relaxing day, my hubby and I got up early and drove to my sisters home on the lake. She lives a 2 hour drive from me.   Friday was her and her husband's  21st anniversary, they had gone to Savannah for the weekend.
She had asked another sister if she and her husband would like to come and house sit (actually puppy sit) she has three dogs.  They were there for 3 days. We just went for the day.   I love to sit and look at water, I find  it so relaxing, and that is about all we did. Her house is in a cove, but we could still see the boaters and skiers going by.

We sat on the porch, under ceiling fans, and rocked and caught up on everything that had gone on since the last time we were together.

The Canadian Geese flew in and entertained us for awhile.  I love to hear them as they fly in and land on the water.

Have you ever seen such huge ferns?  She has a walk out basement and in the winter she keeps them in it.

We took a walk in her wooded area with the dogs.

Now we do have to go back for a visit when my sister Linda and her husband is there. That's what she told me and I do always enjoy our visits together.

I hope your weekend was as relaxing.

HAVE A BLESSED DAY!

What's Wrong With Maple

Can anyone tell me what's wrong with my Japanese Maple Tree!
(I think she may be sick).  No, that isn't snow on her leaves or ice, it's still in the high 60's and 70's here.

My knock-out roses and other plants and flowers are still blooming and don't have anything on there leaves.

My grandson, Johnathan, came home with us after church on Sunday and spent the night with us.  He loves roses and picked me a bouquet and arranged them himself in my vintage teapot.  He is so thoughtful.

The white rose is a Tea Rose my daughter gave me for Mother's Day and he planted it for me.  You may not can see it but it has little spots of pink on each leaf.  I am amazed that it still has a couple of blooms on the plant at this time of year.

I hope my Maple tree doesn't die, It is so pretty in the spring and summer.  I don't remember it having this white on it in the years past.

Have a Blessed Day!

Fall Leaves

The time of the falling leaves has come again.  Once more in our morning walk we tread upon carpets of gold and crimson, of brown and bronze, woven by the winds or the rains out of these delicate textures while we slept.
How beautifully the leaves grow old! How full of light and color are their last days! There are exceptions, of course. The leaves of most of the fruit-trees fade and wither and fall ingloriously. They bequeath their heritage of color to their fruit. Upon it they lavish the hues which other trees lavish upon their leaves-----
But in October what a feast to the eye our woods and groves present! The whole body of the air seems enriched by their calm, slow radiance. They are giving back the light they have been absorbing from the sun all summer.

A FUN DAY AT THE RANCH!

Saturday was a Fun Family Day at The Rock Ranch just a few miles away.  My grandson Joshua was running in a Cross Country Run there.  It was Family Fun Day .  He did good but, before the race to warm up, he ran some of it so he didn't do as good as he had been doing, cause he was already a little tired. It was a 3 and 1/2 mile run. The Ranch is a 1,500 acre cattle ranch owned by S.Turett Cathy, founder of Chic-fil-A restaurants and Turett's Grill. You can read about it here, just click on the link below.

Here the team has just finished praying before they start the run.  My grandson is the one on the left with his back to me.  He doesn't like his picture taken. (Teenagers)

Here he is at the finish line, 24 minutes later.  This is his first year in  high school Cross Country.

It's a beautiful ranch and Saturday was a pretty day.  There are lots of things to do there.  Schools take the children on field trips and lots of special events take place. Oh and they even have covered wagons that you can rent and camp out, I didn't get a picture of the wagons.

There's even a Mini Village.

Here's my daughter and my grandson (Johnathan) standing in front of the mini church.

The visiting children were really enjoying the underground slide.

Here is more of the ranch.

I almost forgot to tell you that there's a tall Zip Line.

Oh, and yes, when I first got there what did I see but "Pumpkins".  I was " IN " to the race so much that I totally forgot to buy a pumpkin on my way out.

I hope your weekend was a good one.

Have a Blessed Day!
