Out and About

Autumn is a great time to get Out and About!
The weather is not too hot or too cold.

Traveling less than 10 miles from home is also a
good thing when you have a great park to visit.

I may have posted about this park before,
but it seems every time we visit the county has
made improvements. It was a state park but in
2012 it was handed back to the county.

This is what we found on our recent visit. It wasn't
here the last time we visited!

Sprewell Bluff, about a 10 minute drive and so pretty!
This is the overlook before you  get into the park, The deck
and building was added this year after our last visit.

By this time each year the leaves have turned to many
beautiful colors, but not yet this year. We'll keep a watch
and be there when they do turn.

Big deck with the viewer so you can see for miles!

Now on to the park.

Sprewell Bluff is a 1,372  acre heavily wooded park.
The Flint River winds it's way through it on it's way
to Lake Blackshear. It is great for fishing, with
catfish and bass. Great Outdoors website has named
fly fishing on the Flint River as one of Georgia's top
10 adventures.
It has 3 mile hiking trails along the
river going up to the bluff.

Bird watching is also common since the forest is a stop
for migratory song birds.

Picnic tables and two Pavilions are great for family outings, under
the shelter are along side the river. I do see a little leaf color here.

See the large rock the arrow is pointing to?
Children actually jump off it and swim!
Yes, and adult children too!
Yikes, I wouldn't even it I was a teenager,
too dangerous for me. The rock is higher
than it looks in this photo.

I closed my eyes when my grandchildren did it.

Hope you have enjoyed our outing today, come along anytime.
Next time we'll pack a picnic lunch!

Have a blessed day!

WHAT I LIKE ABOUT FALL!

All those "Fall Festival's "
That's what I Love!

Saturday I went to the festival in the next town, they have it every October. I love going to them, all the food and other goodies they have.

I love the town with it's old buildings. I don't like it when towns tare down the buildings and build new ones.  This small town is just minutes from where I live and still looks like the 1800's but in a good way!

 Now for "The Other Goodies"!

Look what I found, a booth that won my heart!
Teacups!
Sure had to bring a trio and another teacup home with me!!

This one is Royal Windsor,
England

It has a touch of pink on it. I love the handle and the gold trim.

 This trio is my favorite!
It's hard to read the back but from what I can make out, it's
Century Services Corp. Somi Vitrious , Alliance,Ohio
Autumn Gold

Just perfect for fall harvest tea!

 On our way out~~~~

We stopped and got Boiled Peanuts!

Can you smell them boiling?
Hope your fall day is a Blessed One!

Pumpkin Spice Cake ~ recipe

I made a cake this weekend, it turned out really good, everyone loved it so I want to share it with you.
It's so easy to make, just TWO  ingredients!

Just a box of cake mix and a 15 oz can of 100% pumpkin.
Bake at 350degrees about 30 -35 minutes.

And it turns out like this. You can make muffins too or cupcakes!

I whipped up 2cups heavy whipping cream with 1/4 cup confectioners sugar and made a topping. I then drizzled caramel over the top and sprinkled cinnamon over it. It was so good!

But I didn't wait for it to cool so this is what happened! Went right off the cake.
It always pays to wait for better results!
So I waited for it to cool and and tried again,
it taste the same, but looked better or at least stayed on the cake.

You can make it with a yellow cake mix, but I like it spicy!

Have a Blessed Autumn Day!

On the Road Again

With this cooler weather it's good to get out and enjoy it!
So we do! Yes, every chance we get because colder weather is on the way and then we may just cuddle up and stay inside.

Yep, this is from a past winter in my yard!
Love my iphone it does things I didn't know it would do!

But until then back to Autumn.

Another outing, with my grandson, Johnathan.

Well Peach season may be over but Lane is open for all kinds of Autumn fun.

The kids were enjoying these farm tractor's.

And the corn maze!

 And the children's hay maze.

But I'll sit and rock awhile!

I had rather go inside and see what I can find!
Teacups and Teapots, just what I like!

 And Pumpkins!

Here I am "The Great Pumpkin"

After getting lunch at the restaurant inside. It was back outside again.

So much to see and do, if you wanted to.

Then it was time to leave!

 Until next time,

Have a Blessed Weekend!

Day Trip Day Two

Love going to other towns and seeing how they've decorated for Autumn!  This Scarecrow is outside the restaurant that we love eating at in Warm Springs. They really go all out for each season.

Here are more photo's outside the restaurant.

After having lunch in the restaurant we stopped in the next town on our way home. I love this store, it is full of antiques and odds and ends.

And I couldn't close this without posting my granddaughter when I took care of her (Morgan) while my daughter worked, she was two years (young).  Three of my friends, with their daughters, and I would have "play dates" at each others homes. This photo was at my home, we had a pumpkin decorating party.

Look at those curls, and today she uses a straightener to straighten her hair.

Another 'play date' we took them to a pumpkin patch. We would go on hayrides and other fun trips.

Hope you're having a great Autumn and making memories.

Have a Blessed and Joy Filled Day!
