Joy in Vacation!

"Why chase Joy"

This was the title of my morning bible study.
"It is the duty of a Christian to be as happy as
he can".  C.S. Lewis

So many of us find that we get so involved in our
daily activities that we tend to loose focus of
our purpose or loose the "Joy" in what we are
doing in our lives. These are those times that
we need to get away to a "happy place" where
we can find quiet and peace. To refocus and get
back to where we can truly enjoy our lives.

 That is what we did!
We found our place where we could rest and leave the things behind, if for only a few days, that would hinder our "joy".

The peaceful sounds of the ocean waves, I find
relaxing.

The sounds of birds singing! They fly to and from their nest happily, not worrying or burdened with cares .

Each sunrise and sunset, we find that each new day is given to us by a loving God, that longs to give us that peace that can only be found in Him.

A quiet place where our hearts can find fellowship with Him!

"...try to be quiet, and do your own business..."
1 Thessalonians 4:11
Put aside the daily cares of life and concerns that can weigh us down.

When we find that 'place,' then we can begin to have joy and peace within and we're able to share our joy with others.

"And in the morning, rising up early, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed." Mark 1:35

I love nature, there's so much we can learn from it. The beauty of God's creation, the love given to us to embrace and enjoy.

The fellowship of family is always a blessings and brings joy!
On this Spring break vacation two of our daughters, three of our grandchildren and one of our son-in-laws, joined us. One son-in-law was in Honduras on a mission trip building a church.  The others in our family was either in school or working.

The place where we were staying was less than an hour drive to Panama City Beach,Florida. One day we drove over and enjoyed the mall there.
Most of all I just loved and enjoyed staying in this
quiet town by the beach away from the noise of a big city, where it isn't filled with high rise condo's and stores.

Yes, an en'joy'able time was had by all and at the end of the day and trip we weren't ready to leave.

If only my granddaughter 'could' hold up the sun and not let it go down on our vacation, how wonderful that would be!

To have one more day to relax, en'joy'  the sun and sounds of the birds happily flying by and the call of
the ocean waves. To sit in the swing where I was often found en'joy'ing the others playing in the water, and fellowship with others staying at the Inn.

Yes, Madi, there will be other days of  'joy'ful moments together!

But for now we most go back to 'normal' everyday life and remember these times of "Joy"!

Have a Blessed and Enjoyable Day!

Staycation

I'm back and sure did miss everyone!
I did find time to read some blog post
so I wouldn't feel too out of touch.

During my " Staycation " I stayed busy doing
things I needed to do . Well I really did
"NOT" want to do a yard sale, but my
daughter talked me into it. Our town
had a community yard sale at the park
where I go to walk...(my furry pet).

I did get to do some yard work, which after
a long cold winter, was very much needed.

With my hubby's help, I moved my arbor from
it's place down by a cedar tree that was growing
too close to it. I like it much better here in the
fenced area by the house.

I planted a climbing American  Rose,
 and it's pink!
I can't wait until it climbs over the top!
I think I bought 8 or 10 plants and potted them.
Well I still have about 3 to pot, maybe I'll get
that done today.

Yesterday my daughter called to ask if we wanted to meet them at Sprewell Buff Park for a picnic, yes...any time I can spend with family is GREAT!
Here's my son-in-law grilling.

There were people on the river that flows through
the park.
Good thing there's a life jacket nearby,
cause this man may need it.

Some of the nutty people will climb onto this
huge rock and jump off it. The water isn't that
deep in this area so you have to "know" just
where to jump!
He did make it without us having to throw the
life jacket out to him.

We stayed close to home since we were trying
to save for our "Vacation".
Tomorrow I'll tell you about it.
Here's a sneak peek!

Have a Blessed Day!

Footprints in the Sand

One night a man had a dream.
He dreamed he was walking along
the beach with the Lord.
Across the sky flashed scenes from
his life.
 For each scene, he noticed
two sets of footprints in the sand;
one belonged to him, and the other
belonged to the LORD.

When the last scene of his life
flashed before him, he looked
back at the footprints in the sand.
He noticed that many times along
the path of his life,
there were only one set of footprints.
He also noticed that it happened
at the very lowest an saddest times
in his life....

This really bothered him and he
questioned the LORD about it.
"LORD, you said that once I
decided to follow you, you'd walk
with me all the way. But I have noticed
that during the most troublesome
times in my life, there is only one set of
footprints. I don't understand why,
when I needed you most, you would
leave me."

The LORD replied, "My precious, precious child,
I love you and I would never leave you.
During your times of trail and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you".

Arthur unknown

Whatever trail or sorrow we may face in life. When we think all others have forsaken us, we can be certain of this, that our LORD will never leave those that belong to HIM. As we walk in HIS light and follow HIM, have faith that HE is with you.

Ephesians 5:14 ...Christ shall give thee light.

~Footprints of Jesus that make the pathway glow,
I will follow the steps of Jesus, where ever they go".  ~

Staycation and Vacation

internet

It's finally Spring, the sun is shining!
Warmer temperatures!
And I have the fever to Get out and Go!

The rest of the month my hubby and I are
going to have a Staycation and a Vacation!

What is a Staycation....you asked!
According to Forbes on the internet a Staycation
is a fancy word for spending time off at home or
in your general area without spending lots of money, doing things that you would do on a vacation but staying close by and taking day trips. The trick is to enjoy yourself by deviating from daily routines, like washing clothes.

Do the same things you enjoy when you're on a vacation. Go to a Zoo!

Relax!
Take a nap in a hammock

Take  day trips to your favorite town.

That's what we are doing for the next week or so...
Then this is where you will find me on "Vacation"!

My favorite Florida Vacation town!!!
