MY DAY AT CALLAWAY GARDENS

The temperature is in the low 80's this week.  Yesterday I had a "pitty party", only one there was my  husband and  of course myself.  I was washing and making beds and breakfast.  You get the picture, "All I do is housework" get so tired, then my loving hubby said "leave the clothes, come on we are going over to Callaway for the day."  He knows how much I love pretty flowers and landscapes that I can no longer do in my own yard without having to stay in bed the next day.  Those of you that live in Georgia knows that Callaway Gardens is a beautiful place, with acre's of Azalea's, tulips, and many other flowers and flowering trees, and many other things to enjoy. I am so blessed to live about 45 minutes away, so off goes the washer, (he didn't have to tell me twice).  We had planed to go Wednesday and now I'm glad we went Monday since the weather man says rain tomorrow.  I took 65 photo's but I'll only post a few today. Opened in 1952 Callaway Gardens is nestled in the southernmost foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. Pine Mt., Ga.
In August 1930 Cason Callaway bought 2,500 acres of land in Harris Co., he eventually went on to own 40,000 Acres.  For more information search http://callawaygardens.com/about-us/history

Needless to say by the time to leave (and I didn't want to!)  I was in a much better place mentally and spiritually.
I hope you have enjoyed this day with me.

HAVE A BLESSED DAY!

Sylvia, your pictures are truly a delight to look at - I am looking at snow right now :) Your husband sounds like such a sweetie and I'm so glad he took you away for a while. It sounds like you had a lovely time. I agree with Lottie, the chores can always wait!

Hugs to you,
Stephanie

Hello Sylvia!
Callaway Gardens, so beautiful! I have not been there in years and I have NEVER gotten there in the Spring. THanks so much for these photos. You look so pretty with the pink azaleas behind you!
Thanks also for becoming a new follower, I appreciate it! Nice to know another Georgia Girl! In my case, I am an old lady, but let's not quibble over it, shall we? :-)
Love,
Kay
