A NEW FIND!

You thought I had found a new teacup or teapot, right?  Well for the  last week I have been working in my flower beds and this is what I found yesterday in my rosemary bush.  They have just hatched.  I'll try to take pictures as they grow and fly away.  That is if I can keep my cat Milo from them.  The mama and papa bird keeps a close watch over them.  Here she is perched on the wire above the rosemary bush.

She didn't like me so close to her babies.

There's the rosemary bush at the corner of the house and Mama Bird on the wire above and close by.

I don't know for sure what kind of bird it is but my hubby thinks it's a mockingbird.

HAVE A BLESSED DAY!

  2. It's so much fun to watch them grow and then fly away. I guess it's sort of what we watch our children and grandchildren do.

  3. Oh how NEAT!!

My hubs took a pic of a nest in one of our evergreens - no babies yet but there is definately birds living there.

    Isn't nature just amazing?

GREAT pic, Syl - looking forward to watching them grow with you - keep that cat away! I am so surprised the birds built so LOW, ya know?

    Hugs.

  4. Isn't it amazing how many baby birds can fit in a nest? I hope you get to see them all fly away one day.

  7. From the profile view (shape & size sitting on the wire) and the white wing bars in flight I am sure it is a Mockingbird. They are fierce protectors of their babies. I've seen them diving at cats with beaks and claws ready to scratch a cat's eyes out if it doesn't go away! Most cats will run after an encounter like that! You should be hearing their beautiful songs, too. Though if you have a lot of birds, it may be difficult to pick their songs out of all the others.
    Great set of photos!
    Have a wonderful day!
