I am a Keeper and Learning to Lean

No, I'm not talking about that kind of keeper!
Although he is a keeper.

Do you have trouble throwing away things!
I do!
Like boxes things come in. I believe that I
have every box of every cell phone I've ever had.

I recently cleaned out my closet and gave away
a couple trash bags of clothes, shoes, and handbags
of which some I've had for more years than I care to
say!  Why is it  that we humans want to hold onto "stuff".
Our lives can become so full of unimportant things that can
weight us down if we don't take inventory from time to time.

This is true in our spiritual lives also. In these last couple
months, I've had to clean out ' the closet of my mind and heart!'
There were old habits lurking there that I hadn't gotten rid of.
It takes far more insight than I normally have to understand this.

Those of you that read my blog regularly know the
circumstances my husband and I are in. While praying
for strength and guidance, my Lord is, while supplying these
needs, showing me much more that I need - discernment!
This is important for us to know the difference in error and truth,
what is good and what's best, what's God's Will  and what's mine.' Our heavenly father wants us to know these distinctions.

While I may think I am doing the right thing, I am learning
that I don't always make the best decisions concerning others.
Their needs may be different from mine or from what I am
trying to supply them. I am learning to listen to others that want
to give me sound advise, to serve with a thankful heart and attitude.
To be thankful for all I'm blessed with and to continue to strive
to listen to God's Spirit and allow Him to guide my life. Thus
cleaning out the closet of my heart and mind. Now I am far from
perfecting this, but with His help, I'll get there as I am learning to
lean on HIM!

"But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send ......shall teach you all things." John 14:26

  Have a Blessed Day!

Amen, Dear Sylvia.
We all need to clean out our "closet" once in a while. Reflect on what is right from wrong.
Be kind and listen.. we learn this way.. Our dear lord is always there to guide and help us.
Hoping that you and your husband are feeling better.. and life is slowly getting on track.
You are both in my prayers.. thinking of you.

yes, we have much leftover "stuff," to get rid of.

not only in our homes, but in our minds, and hearts and attitudes and habits and......

well, guess we have enough pruning to do, to keep us busy for some time to come. :-)

which is nice, in a way...

i don't want to "be done" any time soon!!!!!

gentle hugs,
tessa~

The photo of those beautiful hands drew me to this post, Sylvia.
I was going to read it a couple of days ago, but never got there, and again I came across it. I believe God wanted me here. :-)
This is such a truth for our lives Spiritually, and there is great joy when we allow the Lord to do the cleaning out.
Thank you for this message.
Thinking of you often.
