Broken Pieces

I watched a video yesterday " The Potter's Wheel".
As I watched it I could 'see' how God's hands are on our lives, how He's there molding each area of our life, the good, the bad, happy times and sad times. Just like the clay on the potters wheel, He gently molds each of us to conform to His will. Our lives aren't always how we would have it to be, but with each joy and heartache He molds us into what He wants us to be. The best for us is what comes out of the mold when we yield to His will.

"But now, O Lord, you are our Father;
We are the clay, and You our Potter
and all we are the work of your hand."
Isaiah 64:8

 From the poem :
The Master's Vessel
author unknown

"Ah This is the vessel I've been hoping to find, I will mend and use it  and make it all mine".
But "I need not the vessel with pride of it's safe,
nor the one who is narrow to sit on the shelf.
Nor the one who is by mouth shallow and loud,
nor one who displays his contents so proud.
Not the one who thinks he can do all things just right,
but this plain earthy vessel filled with My power and might"
"Then gently He lifted the vessel of clay,
mended and cleansed it and filled it that day.
Spoke to it kindly "There's work you must do,
Just pour out to others
as I pour into you."

So the lesson I believe that I learned from this is to slow my pace each day and reflect on my life~~ see, "by eyes of faith" how each step I take should be guided by the Potter and be conformed to His will. Each trail and troubles in my life is to become more patient under His conforming Hands and to become a Vessel for His use!

Have a Blessed Sunday!

Sylvia

I love this. One of my favorite hymns from the olden days is "Have Thine Own Way, Lord, Have thine own way...Thou art the Potter, I am the clay...mold me and make me after Thy will, while I am waiting, yielded and still." I have sung that hymn so many times, and have had to yield to that potter's hands in more ways than I ever imagined. But He knows the vessel He is preparing me to be, and I have to trust Him. Great reminder today. Thank you.

Sylvia, what a beautiful and inspiring post you have shared with us here.
That movie sounds like one I would love to see.
My heart was encouraged here tonight. I needed the reminder to continue yielding to the will of God, as He molds and shapes me into the instrument of His choosing.
That is such a beautiful piece of scripture.
Sweet blessings to you, dear Sylvia.
Joy! Debbie

Hi Sylvia,
I loved your post! The Bible is so full of gems and nuggets of wisdom and it gives me great joy to know that He is the One fashioning me. Even when we are broken, whether from hurts in the past or a new one, He is willing and able to take us in His loving hands and make us better. Thank you for sharing this with us. You are a blessing!

Hugs,
Sandi
