Footprints in the Sand

One night a man had a dream.
He dreamed he was walking along
the beach with the Lord.
Across the sky flashed scenes from
his life.
 For each scene, he noticed
two sets of footprints in the sand;
one belonged to him, and the other
belonged to the LORD.

When the last scene of his life
flashed before him, he looked
back at the footprints in the sand.
He noticed that many times along
the path of his life,
there were only one set of footprints.
He also noticed that it happened
at the very lowest an saddest times
in his life....

This really bothered him and he
questioned the LORD about it.
"LORD, you said that once I
decided to follow you, you'd walk
with me all the way. But I have noticed
that during the most troublesome
times in my life, there is only one set of
footprints. I don't understand why,
when I needed you most, you would
leave me."

The LORD replied, "My precious, precious child,
I love you and I would never leave you.
During your times of trail and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you".

Whatever trail or sorrow we may face in life. When we think all others have forsaken us, we can be certain of this, that our LORD will never leave those that belong to HIM. As we walk in HIS light and follow HIM, have faith that HE is with you.

Ephesians 5:14 ...Christ shall give thee light.

~Footprints of Jesus that make the pathway glow,
I will follow the steps of Jesus, where ever they go".  ~

This brought back memories of my dad who loved this story and kept a copy of Footprints in the Sand on the refrigerator.

Sylvia, it's so good to see your return! I've missed you.
Your images are terrific, did you take them on your vacation?
I have always loved this and about four years ago my husband and I were visiting his parents in Canada, and I was in need of a book to take along with me to the beach. Well~ my mother in law shared with me a book that was the true story of how and why this came to be, it was quite interesting.
During that time in my life I was going through a trial and that book feel into my hands at a time I needed it. I spent days alone with God on the beach reading that book and came home with a renewed heart.
Many lives have been touched by this, including my own.

Thank you for sharing this with us.
Bless you, Debbie
