A True Friend and Neighbor

I have a new neighbor and friend!
Really!
How many neighbor's on the first time
you meet would start helping you
weed your flower beds??

About 2 and a half months ago we
got new neighbor's next door, after
the house had been empty for about
2 years. I prayed for a nice neighbor
around our age and my prayers were
answered and then some. What a Blessing!!
She even offered to come over and feed
Milo while we were in Florida on vacation!
Yes, on the first day we met!

Now this is a true friend! Not that I was wanting
someone to help with my yard work,it's just that
we both enjoy working outside.
The family that lived there before were young and had children.

SEE I told you, here she is encouraging me along
to do yard work I've been putting off for years, yes
years!
She asked me a couple weeks ago if I wanted the
ceder tree in my front yard limbed up.
Yes, for a long time now!
So one night last week she text me and said she'd be over at 8 the next morning.
She was and with her she brought her pressure washer!
Oh No, she really was going to work ME!

Here you can tell (on the Left) how the limbs touched the ground. On the right is after. Look
how bad the sidewalk needed cleaning. (that was next)!

You can see from this photo the sidewalk looks so much better.  We worked for 4 hours and was so tired. Pressure washed the porch, sidewalk and the front of the house!

Hubby did take off the limbs and picked up under the tree. Uh oh, looks like he needs to wash the lawn mower now. Maybe we should have pressure
washed it.

Here is my elephant ears and Hosta bed.

The Hosta is always so big and pretty, but I do need
to thin them out next spring. The red flower is Bee Balm, the hummingbirds love it!

 Oriental Lilies
They smell so sweet!
Crape Myrtle
Look at that 'big' bloom on that limb!

Look how much my "America" climbing rose has climbed! I can't wait until the arbor is covered and in full bloom. I love the color.

When the Wisteria first bloomed, there was a cold
snap and it killed the blooms, now it is blooming again!

At the driveway door, I have two pots of this
Moss Rose on each side. I have lots of it planted
since it is a favorite of mine.

I moved my fairy from the flower bed and put
her on the bird bath, the glass ball glows at night,
maybe the birds can see how to bathe now, after I put more water in it!

Someone told me or I read it somewhere that if
you put moth balls in your flower beds it would
keep the pets out. Well I don't know but we'll
see if it works, Milo wants to use it for one Big litter box!

My Day Lilies have never been this pretty!

I love my Knock Out Roses, but it's hard to keep the stinky Japanese beetles off them this year. I get
out every morning and catch them before they wake and knock them into a bucket of sudsy water. I know it sounds cruel but they ruin the roses!

I had to tie up the Iceberg Rose bush,
it was hanging too far out and it was hard
to walk by it. It is almost as tall as the
rabbit!

Yes, even Hubby's tomato's are doing good, with
all the rain we have been getting and it's suppose
to rain today also.

Honestly, I didn't intend to be so long, but it is
the last day of June. Maybe now we can relax and
enjoy the rest of the summer!
Oh, maybe not, yard work is like housework it never ends!

Have a Blessed Day,
Sylvia

Living Life Victorious

In your daily lives, do you see it as an adventure,
or do you live it  quietly expecting things to "just happen". Do you hold back on doing the things you would enjoy doing because of fear
Fear can hinder us from doing the things we love and enjoy doing.

Fear can also hinder us from doing the things we
are called as believers to do. Then we miss out on
the blessings that God has planned for our lives.

In Matthew 14:27 Jesus told Peter "It is I,be not afraid".

While Peter and the other disciples were out fishing one night, a storm came up and they were afraid. As the storm raged and the winds tossed the boat, they saw Jesus walking on the water, Peter called out to Jesus to let him come to him on the water, and Jesus said, 'Come'.   As long as Peter kept his eyes on Jesus, he walked on the water, but as soon as he took them off him he began to sink.

We can learn from Peter's experience, when the storms of our life becomes too rough for us to handle, put our eyes of faith on the one that controls all things.

As Jesus calmed the storms that night so many years ago, He is the same today! When life isn't going the way it should, when those in power today makes decisions that aren't Godly, keep trusting in the one that really counts, He is faithful and merciful to those that put their trust in Him.

Psalms 34:4
"I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears".

As we allow our Lord to calm our fears, be faithful and be ready.

Matthew 24: 44
Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour
as ye think not the Son of man cometh.

Dear Lord, thank you that when you say"come"
we can rest in the truth that you are the same today
as you were then, we can ''come'' to you and rest in your loving arms and find peace and encouragement for our souls, knowing you are the same yesterday, today and forever!
Amen

May your Sunday be Blessed!

His cousin, Morgan, is quiet a good
Artist!
Johnathan wanted her to paint him a
picture for his birthday,  this is what she painted.

This is what it reads.

"Family is forever no matter how low the valley,
or how impossibly high the mountain may appear,
your family is forever."author unknown

He framed it and put it on his wall in
his bedroom.
My heart fills with joy and my eyes
with tears of how close my children
and grandchildren are. God has richly
blessed me!

Today I'm having Strawberries with
 glazed scones and Green Tea,
for my afternoon snack.

My tea cup is by Gibson, it sits on
a wall hanging given to me some
years ago by another tea sister, also
 whose name is Sylvia.
I love it!
It hangs on my kitchen wall.

June Flowers

I enjoy working in my flower beds
and then seeing the results.
It is getting so hot these days that I
can't spend much time outside.
It has been 100 degrees the last few days.

Here is a few photo's of my flowers.

Every year I have to put tomato  plants in
my flower bed for my hubby! They're
doing too great!

There are more but I'll save them for
another day.

Have a Blessed Day!

How Many Times

How often have we seen others accomplishing things we ourselves have longed for. Do we read about someone going places where we haven't been able financially  to go. Do we compare ourselves to others when we shouldn't. So often I have to remind myself that God has promised to be with me and supply my needs to accomplish what He wants for me! This means that I don't need the approval or permission from others when He provides the resources, I just need to use my time and talents to bless others and give Him the Glory.  Keeping my eyes of faith on Him will keep me from becoming resentful.

Internet photo

John 21:15-22
Jesus asked Peter three times if he loved Him, the first time after Peter said that he loved Him, Jesus said, "Feed my Lambs". Two more times Jesus asked Peter if he loved Him, each time He said "Feed my Sheep".  When Peter pointed to another disciple and asked "What about him", Jesus said to him, "What is it to you?".
I have asked myself that very question when comparing myself to another. My answer is  usually that it is "none of my business". I just need to follow, obey and be faithful to Jesus in what He has for me to do!
How many times do we need to be asked if we love our Lord, before we are willing to follow Him.

Follow Me
by Ira Stamphill

I traveled on a lonely road and no one seem to care,
the burden on my weary back had bowed me to despair.
I oft complained to Jesus how folks were treating me.
And then I heard Him say so tenderly,
"My feet were also weary upon the Calvary road;
the cross became so heavy, I fell beneath the load,
Be faithful weary pilgrim the morning I can see,
Just lift your cross and follow close to me."

Have a Blessed Sunday!

Camping Trip

Hi there, I've been away for a few days!
Enjoying some fresh air and sunshine!

Hubby loves to sit by the water and watch the boats coming and going.

Before long the ducks came a visiting.

This is what they are after.....bread!

Then there's two more....

Two more ducks and then, you have,,,,

Ducks coming from everywhere!

ducks everywhere !!

Now they are full so they sit and watch the boat show with us.

They come and go all day.

With inter tubes they pull the children all  over the lake.

On their seadoo's zipping around so fast at times it is hard to get a good photo of them.

They do make pretty waves on the water.

Yes, here goes another boat!

Madi enjoyed her walks around the campground.

Hubby had several doctors appointments
back to back for a couple days, for follow-ups,
so we took our Vintage Camper
and stayed in a campground not far from town
to keep from going back and forth.

Every day is a blessing,
I hope you are having one!
