COUNTING SHEEP

I often wake up a couple times a night. I find it takes a while to fall back to sleep.
There's a saying that 'if you can't sleep, count sheep',
but I say 'if you can't sleep, talk to the Shepherd instead'.

Jesus told Peter if he loves Him to feed his lambs.
These are new or young believers.

Twice Jesus told Peter if he loved Him to feed his sheep.
These are those that have been believers for some time.
John 21:15-19

As Christian's that have been part of the fold for some time, we too can drift away from the Shepherd.
We need to be fed from God's word and from other believers.
We feed each other by showing Christ love,
by forgiving one another and encouraging each other in our daily walk and praying for each other.

"Thank you Father for bringing me into your fold,
I am so grateful for your love,
help me remember as your child to feed others by showing your love."
Amen

Until next time
God Bless!
Sylvia

I always have loved the relationship of the shepherd to his sheep and I see my relationship with Jesus as like that. I've often found myself praying during those night when I wake up and can't go back to sleep. Lovely post, Sylvia. Thank you.

Sylvia, I have come to think that if I can't sleep, the Lord wants me to have that time with Him! I usually can go back to sleep very quickly when it seems that we are 'done' for now! :)

Beautiful photos!

Sylvia, I too pray if I wake in the night. It's always nice that God is also awake and listening to us. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie

This was beautiful! I love talking to "the Shepherd" when I can't sleep, or any time I feel afraid or lonely or just want to thank Him for all He's done for me! We are so blessed to have such a kind and loving Shepherd to guide and guard us all the days of our lives. Thank you for posting this today.
