Interruptions in life

I've  always believed that there was a reason and purpose for all things in life. Ecclesiastes 3:1  'to every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:'.   Life very seldom goes the way we plan it.  I've learned this lesson in the last few weeks.  God may have other plans for us that is better.
As I read my devotional this morning I was reminded of not to depend on others or myself, but to look to Him, the one that knows our future and all things that concerns us. Jeremiah 29:11

Jesus found the opportunity to minister to a suffering woman and demonstrate His power and love. When He was on His way to heal the daughter of Jairus,a women with a health issue, touched the helm of His clothing. Her faith made her whole. (Mark 5:21-34)  The interruption of the trip to visit Jairus' daughter was known by Jesus to happen, but the disciples were irritated by this. Jesus saw it as an opportunity to minister to a suffering woman. In the meantime Jairus' daughter had died.  Jesus told them not to be afraid ,only to believe, that she was only asleep.

In our trails and sufferings, Jesus already knows the outcome, we are only to believe and trust Him. Our disappointments in life can and may very well be God's appointment, to bring us to a better understanding of His will for us, to teach us to depend on Him and strengthen our faith and bring us to a closer relationship with the one that already knows our future.

So today as I start a new week I'll try to see the purpose in my life for the interruptions in the plans I've made, and pray that I not become irritated and complain but to minister to others and be a better witness of His Love. To take each interruptions as blessings in disguise.

My first grandchild graduates from high school this Friday. I'd planed to attend all his senior functions last week but my plans was interrupted and I only attended one out of three, I do believe it was for this reason, to slow me down and to trust God and wait on Him to lead me to a closer understanding of love and ministering.

I awoke at 4 this morning and could not go back to sleep, so I got up, put on a load of clothes to wash, and read my daily bible devotion.

Lord, this humble house we'd keep,
Sweet with play and calm we sleep,
Help us so that we may give
beauty to the lives we live.
Let Thy beauty and thy Grace
Shine upon our dwelling place.

Thank you, my dear Sylvia, for writing these encouraging words. It made me think of the many times I get interrupted and the way I often react is not always Christ-like. I appreciate the kind, gentle reminder to act through Jesus.

You have blessed my heart this Monday morning. Hugs to you, my friend! You are always in my prayers. Love to you!

Such a lovely post, Sylvia. It reminded me of the times I got frustrated because the plans I'd made for the day got messed up. It took awhile for me to realize a better way was to ask the Lord to pencil in the day's plan on my calendar. That works so much better.
Thanks for taking time to leave comment in my Spiritual blog. Have an amazing day.
God bless you.

Dear Sylvia, You left the most wonderfully kind comment on my blog the other day. Thank you! You write so beautifully from the heart. I will be thinking of you and wishing you the best. I recently read something that one of our missionary's wrote to me several years ago. It has helped me. She said, "God doesn't bring us through troubled waters to drown us, but to cleanse us." I always love to think of David in the Bible, even through all of his varied experiences, he realized where his strength came from. I love to think of his reliance on God through all things, even his greatest failings. Loved the words you wrote, they touched my heart.
Congratulations to your grandson! What a special time for him.
Blessings and Sunshine sweet friend, Valerie

Dear Sylvia,

Thank you for these inspirational words! I'm one hundred percent with you, to take each interruption as a blessing in disguise.

But He knows the way that I take; When He has tested me, I shall come forth as gold. Job 23:10

Very blessed to be able to cross your paths.

Blessings!

Good Morning Sylvia!

What a beautiful reminder. Some times those little interruptions from God are just what we need to stay home or to slow down for that moment. And sometimes, he just wants you close to him and to inquire of his word. We all need to remember that life still goes on even in the midst of those moments. Our God is so good. And you are thought of more than you know. The Lord showed me a hummingbird the other morning and this little bird, flew in front of me and stayed there for about 5 seconds and flew off. And during that time, the Lord said to be still to listen and quick to obey. Wow... I'm still in awe of that. He's fine tuning me for something and for you as well.

I hope you have a lovely day!

Hugs,
Amy
