Patio Tea and Roses

My roses are doing so good this year,
it must be due to all the rain we've been
getting and maybe by cutting them back
in the early spring, helped too.

I am really enjoying them. I cut a few and
made an arrangement for my tea on the Patio.

Last year they had single petals, but this
year look how many there are on that rose.

I was in Hobby Lobby the other day,
looking for material to cover my dining room chairs, look what I found!

I didn't get any fabric for my chairs, but I did
buy this.

 I was so excited.
I got a yard to use as a table cloth.
Maybe I should have gotten more! huh!
It would make pretty throw pillows.

These nice days with warm air and a cool breeze,
I sat up my tea on the patio.

I love to eat at Panera Bread, while there (the day
I found the fabric) I bought some extra scones
to bring home with me.

Blueberry, Triple Berry, Orange, and an
Apple Cinnamon Muffin.
That muffin was so good I couldn't wait to
take a bite out of it.

My hubby loved the Orange Scone the best, so
he got them.

Magnolia Tea

There is nothing like a Southern Magnolia Grandeflora !

Native to the Southeast U.S. and California, it is a fast growing tree and grows well in the Georgia sun. They are evergreen with large, fragrant flowers. It reaches 60 to 80 feet high with it's trunk up to 5 feet in diameter.

This tree is in my daughter Debbie's yard. There are many Magnolia Trees there on her property . She is blessed each year with large beautiful blossoms from all these great trees.

We had two rounds of thunder storms today, so I drove up to her house after they had passed over and she was so nice to let me cut a few blossoms. They make the house smell so good.

This is how it looks before it blooms.

Isn't it Beautiful!

I made a Lemon Cake yesterday, so an afternoon Tea Snack was the quick 'pick me up'.

I used a box cake mix and icing. To make it taste better and unlike a box mix you can do this:

Add one extra egg
Use butter instead of oil
and
Use milk instead of water.
(I used Heavy Whipping cream)

Yum Yum!!

I've shown this Magnolia teapot before, but since I was having our southern magnolia's for my flower arrangement, I wanted to include it.

Look UP !

"I Looked UP"

I looked down and I found that everything
looked real bad,
I looked back and I saw so many things
that were sad,
I looked up and I could feel the sunshine
on my face,
I felt love and peace and God's
healing grace.

I realized everyday what I needed
to do,
No matter what I was doing or
going through,
If I looked down I missed the hope and
strength for the day,
If I looked back I'd dwell on things I could
never change anyway.
Looking up I would find all that I need,
I'd have a reason to keep trying,
knowing with God I'd succeed.

When I'm down and feeling like there is
no hope around,
I look up and I realize where true
hope is found,
When I look back and I worry about what
has already been done,
I look up and I see the battles are over
And my Father has already won!!

Quiet Rest

Bridge at Blue Willow Inn gardens.

"Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not." Jeremiah 33:3

I know that life can get to be full of stress,
so today take a little time for yourself,
Remember this too shall pass!
I need to be reminded of this so often.
Why worry or fret when God's is in control!

Tea can soothe you for a moment,
but place all your cares in His
capable hands!

Fairy Good Day!

Monday and I am still enjoying Mother's Day!
Hope everyone had  a good one!

We had a family picnic at  Sprewell Bluff Park.
A good time was had by all.
I was gifted miniature roses, gift cards and
a very pretty garden fairy,
Among other nice gifts from my family.

I love the outdoors, so today I'm outside enjoying
the breeze, with my red velvet cupcake!
I love roses of all colors! Pink, Red, yellow and Cream colored ones are so beautiful.

Today I have my Crown Trent teacup with
pretty red roses.

It was a Fairy Good Mother's Day!

May Flowers

April showers brings.....
May Flowers!

With all the rain and cool weather in April, it was good for all the plants.  I have been enjoying time outside working in my flower beds....but not enjoying all the sore joints in my body afterwards!
Here is where I started with a new bed, it was just outside my patio and didn't grow grass too good...so
I turned it into a flower bed.

This is it finished .
oops didn't get the blocks straight!

I found this large butterfly at Hobby Lobby back in March on sale.

Roses are one of my favorites.

Love the Japanese Iris in all it's color and glory!

Always have to include a teacup, even if I can't drink from it!

The Angel Trumpet is coming up, I really do have it planted too close to my Knock Out Roses, just have to keep it cut back away from it as it grows.

Hostas  doing good!

These are the Daylilies from my Mother's garden, when she passed away, my sisters and I got some.
They grow pretty each year.

I had a few visitors while I worked, they are always welcomed!
The Brown Thrasher is the Georgia State Bird and the Cardinal loves to feed on the Safflower seeds.
Can you see the Lizard on the fence?
Here's a closer look,

Have a Blessed Day
and
Enjoy all of God's gifts!

A Light in the Darkness

Have you ever visited a cave and followed it
deep into the ground. At first the formations
are a thing of wonder and maybe beauty. But
as you continue further it becomes dark and
almost suffocating. It's a relief to get back and
and see the light of day.
The world has become like this cave, dark
with sin and needs light!  With all that has been
going on and no one seems to have the answer
to it's problems. There is an answer and a light
to guide us if we will only turn back to our creator
and follow His light!

John 12:46
"I am come a light into the world, that whoever believes on me should not abide in darkness."

In Jesus Christ we can have the light of salvation,
the only way to find our way in this world of
spiritual darkness!

Psalm 23
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths
of righteousness for his name's sake.
Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow
of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me;
thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of
mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me, all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the
Lord forever.

Have a Blessed Sunday!
