Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas

Happy Thanksgiving

And

"In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you"
I Thessalonians 5:18

I am thankful for Thanksgiving and all the blessings God has blessed me with. Last year this time we were selling our home and getting ready to move into town where it would be more convenient for us as we get old into our 'golden' years. So we didn't host Thanksgiving at our home. This year my daughter will welcome all the family, at her home.

I am thankful for my family!

On Saturday Hubby and I enjoyed part of the day in Warm Springs, Ga. about a half hour drive away.

The weekend before Thanksgiving they always have their Candlelight Tour in town. It's all dressed up for Christmas.  There are candles in tubs of sand that line the streets, but I failed to get a photo of them.

This is the Hotel Warm Springs Bed & Breakfast Inn, where President Franklin D. Roosevelt stayed at times, when he came to Warm Springs. It still welcomes guest today.
His Little White House where he died, is just outside of town.

They have a parade and lots of things for children to enjoy like this train ride.

It is so pretty at night all lite up!
Neither one of us likes to drive at night anymore, so we left before dark. I had to steal borrow this one from their FaceBook page also. We have been at night before and love it! There are carolers in period dress that sings carols on the side walk.  One store rolls out a piano and plays beautiful Christmas music.

Ok, I borrowed another one from their FB page!
All they need now is snow...but there's none to be found in Georgia.

We had lunch at the Bullock House Restaurant.
It's always decorated so pretty for Christmas.

This is the entrance to the restaurant, with Santa's guarding the door.

A few doors down from the restaurant, they have a Coffee and Tea Shoppe. We sat and rested, while hubby drank coffee and ate fudge while I had a French Vanilla Cappuccino and an almond fudge bar.

Coffee is always good on a cool day!

And a cup of hot Tea
really hits the spot!

And on the way home I just couldn't resist taking a photo of these cute deer someone was selling by the road.  They were made from tree limbs!

Our grandchildren are out of school all week for
Thanksgiving, I hope to spend time with them, and
all the family.

I'll be taking a break from blogging for now. I'll be checking in from time to time, so I want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and a very Merry Christmas.

Be Blessed!
Sylvia

I remember learning about FDR and Warm Springs. Didn't he have a therapeutic center there at the springs for rehab? Love the photos. It looks like a lovely place to visit. Enjoy your break.

Wow! Warm Springs is really pretty! I love that you were able to go and enjoy the Christmas 'opening' season. I bet those candles in the tubs of sand are really neat. Enjoy your time away, Sylvia. I do hope you check in from time to time so we all know you are okay. Otherwise, Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family and we will 'see you' before Christmas. xo Diana

What a lovely town Sylvia. Looks like a Hallmark Christmas town. I truly enjoyed "touring Christmas town" with you. Haven't seen the sun here in my area for 3 days. Nothing but rain and fog. Happy belated Thanksgiving and a Blessed Christmas to you and yours my friend.
