Family Dinner

My youngest sister lives in Alabama and is back for a visit.
All my siblings and a few other
family members went out to dinner, last night,
there were 16 of us.

This is where we went.
Buckner's is a family owned restaurant that is now in the third generation of ownership.

The building to the right is where gospel sings are held.

It has been in business since 1980, once we lived only a 30 minute drive from it.

It takes us and hour and fifteen minutes now to drive to it, but.....It's worth the ride!

They serve made from scratch home cooking and
it's served 'home style', on a lazy susan,
so if you don't have a large group with you, you
may be seated with strangers. That's ok, it's a good
way to meet and make new friends.
It took two tables for us.

The fried chicken is the best found anywhere.

This is my plate (first plate)
from last night.
I ate 3 pieces of chicken.

Love the Cole Slaw, fresh corn,
butter beans, Chicken and the peach cobbler is wonderful!
Those are my favorites, but they have lots more
and will keep bringing it as long as you want more!

The big Chicken out front is loved by everyone.
You just have to take photo's of it.

After we finished eating we stood outside
talking and finally left after hugs and goodbye's
were said.

"As for me and my house,
we will serve the Lord".
Joshua 24:15

Have a Blessed Day!

Hey! I just looked it up, it is in Jackson, not too far from me. It reminds me of Dillard's in North Georgia, big helpings of food where you share a table with someone! I can just taste that fried chicken, yum! x

Sylvia, That looks like some good home cooking to me. My mom would love this. She really could cook chicken, although we used to tease about frying it so hot she would set off the smoke alarm. LOL. She wanted it crispy. :):) Glad you could be with so many family members. Blessings to all of you, xoxo, Susie

You can't go wrong with a restaurant that has a giant chicken out front!

Oh my goodness! I am drooling over that food! Would so love to go there! That fried chicken looks authentically scrumptious! Love the BIG Chicken out front too. Yeah, I'd have to take pictures of all of that too! Thank you for sharing with us. Wish you could send some of that food through the internet too! LOL

Oh, mercy...what awesome looking "home-cooking". There's a place in Greeneville, TN called "The Farmer's Daughter" and it reminds me of how the food is served there....way too much...LOL! Looks like you had a great time!

Oh, what a delightful place to eat. The fried chicken looks scrumptious. I smiled when I saw the lazy susan, as my mom used to have one at her table all the years we were growing up, and it made me think of her. That chicken out front with the red roses is charming.
