Thankful to Serve

As I woke this morning my mind was on my attitude. Yes, I have to admit sometimes it isn't
what it should be... is God trying to show me this!

I get caught up in all my household chores and helping and doing for others. My hubby isn't in the best of health and sometimes demands, what I think is a lot of me. I cry out (to myself) "I am not your servant."  But is this not as believers what we're suppose to do. I am reminded that Jesus came to serve, not to be served.

"I am among you as one who serves"
Luke 22:27

I have to ask myself, do I go about the day, with this in mind?  Whatever position in life we hold we should remember to carry out our role with the attitude of service.

This morning as I started out with this in mind, and  got out my daily devotion and read it, then again in my new ladies devotional book; to my amazement this was the same theme.
Luke 22:24-27

"Yes, I do believe God was trying to get my attention!"
Yes, and He did get it!

" This morning, O Lord, I thank you for your grace and promises. Lead me in Your ways and fill my heart with Your love and joy. Help me to choose to serve others rather than to expect to be served!'
Amen

Have a Blessed Day!

Thank you for your post. I also needed this. The Lord reminded me yesterday that every act of kindness is also an act of worship to Him (even if other people don't appreciate it!)

Good Morning Sylvia. A precious reminder today. Won't be long until you and your husband can enjoy a peach of strawberry ice cream (is it Dickey's Farm)? We recently bought fresh strawberries and an strawberry ice cream from Jaemor Farm, and as we sat in the rockers on the porch, I thought of you!
God bless you both today. xo

Bless your heart Sylvia, Sometimes we just got to scream. It's not how we want to be...it just proves we are human. When I get like this..I do my whining, carping, whatever, then I say a prayer to be strong and be the woman God wants me to be. Wishing you a blessed day, xoxo, Susie

Isn't it interesting how often our daily devotions hit right on something we are struggling with and need to hear? I find that to be true so often. God knows how to get through to us...and that is why it is so important to spend that time with Him each day. Praying for you as you minister to your hubby and those around you. May the Lord give you strength and joy in the journey.

Oh, my mercy...God's been talking to me about my attitude lately, too, and here you are bringing it up again. Thank you!!! LOL Mine can be not so pleasant sometimes. I'm reading a little book about JOY right now and I've parked on a particular day about how we need to focus on the positive and not the negative. It's too good to go onto the next day because it's speaking volumes to me! So, know that you're not in the boat alone...unfortunately! HOPE you have a bright, sunny weekend! The sun always helps with my attitude! ;-)

I was talking to a blog friend yesterday about mothers working and raising children and taking care of the house and that it must be hard to manage. I told her that I chose to stay home and raise my kids, but there is another side to that story.....you are ALWAYS with them, day and night and don't get a break, and that can be hard too. But it is something I wouldn't trade for anything. Hang in there, Sylvia. You are doing a wonderful thing taking care of your husband. I know some days will be harder than others, but you have a positive attitude and your words here exude all the goodness of serving others. : )

Have a peaceful weekend.

Took care of my MoM for 15years, I'm sorry to say I didn't always have a good attitude about it. God was so good to me during that time, sending me comfort and understanding and sometimes a little correcting too. He is our Abba Father, and he takes care of His children.
