LAST DAY OF 2012

Another year has come and gone, we look forward to a new year with Hope and excitement.  We remember good and not so good times from the year behind us, but knowing we are humans and things don't always go as "we" want them to go, we can look forward with faith seeking new goals and adventures in our lives.  I started blogging in April of this year.  Here are a few things I shared.

April

I visited a Strawberry Festival nearby and came home with a box of fresh strawberries.

A WONDERFUL CHRISTMAS!

I hope everyone had a WONDERFUL CHRISTMAS,  mine started on Friday when all 6 of my grandchildren came to bake cookies, yes, even my grandson that turns 17 in June. They had such a wonderful time. They rolled the cookies out, cut them out and then decorated them when they were baked and cooled. I'll put pictures of them.

How cute is that face.

These grandkids are such a blessing to me, I am so thankful for them.

I love my Whittard of Chelsea teapot cozy that my daughter gave me, she ordered it from www.anniesteatime.com it looks like it's peachy but it is pink.

My four silver teaspoons, also from Annies Tea Time.

Here are a few other Tea items I received.

My daughter found this for me at Cracker Barrel.

After a weekend of celebrating and enjoying time with family and friends, I needed a tea break this afternoon.

HAVE A BLESSED DAY!
AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!

ENJOYING THE SEASON!

A few days ago I was feeling like, this year it's going so good and I don't even feel stressed, well...It's only 6 days until Christmas Eve and now I am beginning to feel like I need to hurry up and finish. There is still a couple more gifts to buy and alot that has to be wrapped and the grandchildren are coming on Friday for our cookie bake.  Slow down and breathe so I can enjoy it, that is what I keep telling myself.

This is my teacup tree.

I have added my two teacups with mice in them.  They were on the tree in the Den, but I decided to move them to the teacup tree in the Dining Room.

They are so cute!

The candle in the lantern adds a calming affect to the day!

A sleigh full of different color ornaments brightens the room!

I stop and enjoy a mug of hot chocolate with mini marshmallows!

On this day a week before Christmas, I want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year!

HOPE FOR TOMORROW!

My heart and prayers go out to all effected by what happened in Sandy Hook, Ct on Friday.  It's so hard to think or feel what families must be going through.  I've heard people asked how God could allow this to happen. It's hard to understand, but God says to trust Him and not lean on our own understanding, but at times like this we all need comfort. As the preacher said yesterday in the morning service , "God was there".  Here is a poem that was posted on Facebook that says it all. Our hope and comfort comes from this same child, Jesus Christ our Lord!

Poem written by Cameo Smith, Mt.Wolf,Pa.

twas' 11 days before Christmas, around 9:38
when 20 beautiful children stormed through heaven's gate.
their smiles were contagious, their laughter filled the air.
they could hardly believe all the beauty they saw there.
they were filled with such joy, they didn't know what to say.
...
...they remembered nothing of what had happened earlier that day.
"where are we?" asked a little girl, as quiet as a mouse.
"this is heaven." declared a small boy. "we're spending Christmas at God's house."
when what to their wondering eyes did appear,
but Jesus, their savior, the children gathered near.
He looked at them and smiled, and they smiled just the same.
then He opened His arms and He called them by name.
and in that moment was joy, that only heaven can bring
those children all flew into the arms of their King
and as they lingered in the warmth of His embrace,
one small girl turned and looked at Jesus' face.
and as if He could read all the questions she had
He gently whispered to her, "I'll take care of mom and dad."
then He looked down on earth, the world far below
He saw all of the hurt, the sorrow, and woe
then He closed His eyes and He outstretched His hand,
"Let My power and presence re-enter this land!"
"may this country be delivered from the hands of fools"
"I'm taking back my nation. I'm taking back my schools!"
then He and the children stood up without a sound.
"come now my children, let me show you around."
excitement filled the space, some skipped and some ran.
all displaying enthusiasm that only a small child can.
and i heard Him proclaim as He walked out of sight,
"in the midst of this darkness, I AM STILL THE LIGHT."

HAVE A BLESSED DAY!

CHRISTMAS TEA BREAK

Let's be merry; we'll have tea and toast...and an endless host of syllabubs and jellies and mince pies.
by: Percy Bysshe Shelley

Come join me today as I break for a cup of Earl Gray Tea and some ginger snaps.

I'll admit that I bought the cookies at the store, haven't had time to do much baking as yet. They are good, I spread just a dot of honey on the top, then sprinkled with confectioners sugar and sprinkles.

We'll have our tea while the angel plays a tune for you and me.

She's standing on a plate of rosemary and holly, surrounded by candy canes and candles.

She loves to be the Center of Atention amongst my new china.

The angel napkin rings joins in with her to make beautiful christmas music!

How "Majesty" is that! Christmas music, Tea and cookies!

MERRY CHRISTMAS
AND
HAVE A BLESSED DAY!
