A Christmas Story Told

Last night we attended the second annual Christmas Play at the church my daughter and her family attends . It was wonderful! Such a great performance by all the choir members, which includes my Son in Law.

Here are some of the photo's that my daughter took.
Hope you enjoy them as much as we enjoyed this play that shows all the stages of the life of Jesus Christ.

All the songs the choir song was beautiful!

My son in law is the one in the middle of front row with the beard!

Looking forward to next year!

Have a Blessed Son-day!

Christmas in my New Neighborhood !

As you may know I will be moving next week.
We closed on our house yesterday. I will be off the internet for awhile, since my computer will have to wait it's turn to be connected. I'm not sure when it will be disconnected. I thought I would give you a peek into how my new neighborhood celebrates Christmas. I apologize for the blurred photo's since you have to keep moving while driving down this road with so many cars ahead and behind you. Some of them are in the daylight and some after dark.

It's beginning to get dark now.

Not every house decorates, but so many of them do. I am going to love this, they do it every year. Maybe I can get just a little decorations up in time.

This house is just up from where I will be.

I hope you have enjoyed our trip down Christmas Lane!

Bye for now!

Have a Blessed Weekend!

MY WEEKEND

I hope everyone had a great weekend.
Mine went with most of my children and grandchildren coming Saturday morning
and helping me continue to pack for our move. Note to self, "Never again buy Nick Nacks"!
They got right in there and packed all the small 'stuff'. (It'll take me months to find anything)
I am so blessed to have smart and willing to help children and grandchildren, I'd never
make this move in time, without their help!
Then that afternoon hubby and I decided to
go see our granddaughter, Anna, march in
their town's Christmas parade.

 Anna's daddy, my S-i-L !

 Anna's brother, Aaron,
got to love that sweet smile!

We sat across from the depot so we could see
good as the parade came by. And it was a
great place to catch all the candy they threw
out.

Here's the ROTC.
That 'ron man' is my grandson,Aaron!

There's the Marching Band, she's up front playing the flute! My camera is getting slow to 'snap' so I didn't get an up front photo of her. So cute in their Santa hats.

Here comes Santa!
In these small country towns, Santa just rides on a float with the others.
We enjoyed the day, and got back home in time to see the beautiful sunset, but I didn't get a photo of it.Wish I had.
I did decide I couldn't go another day without a Christmas Tree. I found this small one in our upstairs bonus room, although it doesn't look very straight. It will do for this year.

Now we are off we go to another appointment
today.
 Have a Blessed One!

CHRISTMAS -Future

Yesterday, I was AWOL from blog-land!
My hubby and I both had doctor's appointments in another town. I usually drive when we go long distances and would you know it rained. I don't like to drive  in rain, especially on the interstate!  But praise the Lord we made it there safe (I was praying all the way) and back.

Tuesday we found our future home.
No, this isn't it, but I love the cute house and that big red barn!

Don't you love the scene on this plate, I do and I would love to live there, maybe minus a little snow. Now I do love snow, but only a little at a time. I live in the south and we don't get much of that pretty white stuff.
Tuesday we went looking for our future home. We found a cute little house that was built in 1928 that has been completely updated. It's so perfect for us..2 bedrooms and 1 bath. Now it may take some getting use to downsizing from a 3 bedroom 2 bath home but I do love it. It sits on 1/4 acre, unlike our 2 acre yard. That grass should be fast and easy to cut!
I will have to wait to show you photo's until we get in it. Praying before Christmas.

Now back to packing and waiting!

Christmas Present - Hope

Today I've been given "Hope"
Yes, there is hope for me!
Even though my living room looks like this-

I've taken down Autumn decor but not much
Christmas decorations going up.
All this 'mess' is packing for our move in a couple weeks.

I have managed a couple things to put out to keep reminding me it's Christmas. But then Christmas is a heartfelt time, not just decorations.

This was my breakfast this morning,as I had my daily devotion.
Sweet Potato Pie and Earl Gray Tea.

I love my 'Spode, Christmas Tree' Trio.

I will 'sing' praises for I have been given
 "Hope"

I sat down with my Bible and "Our Daily Bread" book this morning for my devotion, with my pie and tea in hand. God has used the writers of this little book to teach me and lead me so many times.
This morning in the quietness of my livingroom, in my favorite chair, I opened my bible and as I did the word, "HOPE" filled my mind as if it was floating around in my head, I only had to reach out and grab it. So I did!

I realized there is hope, in our Lord, we just need to claim it by faith.  He's always there, His spirit remains faithful even when we douth. I was reminded to put my 'faith and trust' in Him, his plans are always for my good.

Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for,
the evidence of things not seen.

God has  been faithful in the valleys of my life, as well as when I was on the mountain top.
It's in the valleys where we learn the most, if we are willing to listen with our hearts.

Praise God, He's always been there in the storms of my life, as He promised.

Proverbs 3:3-5
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding: In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths"

There is security in knowing my Lord will lead me each day. I just have to be willing to follow where ever he leads.

Dear Lord, wherever you lead us,
may I always love and serve you
with all my heart.
Amen

Have a Blessed Day,

Sylvia

Christmas Past

I titled this post "Christmas Past"
since I am not decorating at my home this year, I will show
you some photo's from Christmas past. This is
from a Christmas in the  '90s, These are my dolls
enjoying Tea with Santa. Many of these I have
given to my two granddaughters.

We are packing to move within the next couple weeks. I hope to be able to decorate in our new
home.

My daughter gave me this Caroler in 2002 for Christmas,
I love her and still use her today.

My sister gave me this sleigh a few years ago.
I loved filling it with ornaments.

I found these candle holder deer, at a thrift store
a few years ago. They were gold and I painted
them white. I love white!

Every year just before Christmas my grandchildren and I have a cookie bake day.  Hopefully we will still be able to do it this year also. We may need to have it at one of there homes. We make gingerbread men each year, this is a photo from a couple Christmas's ago. They do so good decorating them.

The fiber optic Angel Tree Topper is a favorite!

Love my Holly Christmas Teacup my daughter gave me last year.

Yes, even Madi let me dress her for Christmas.

It's always nice to remember pass Christmas's
and the fun and Love that surrounds it, but
let's not forget what the True meaning of Christmas
is.

Hope to see you tomorrow for Christmas Present!

Have a Blessed Monday!
