Cherry Blossom Festival and Tea

Every year in March, the town of Macon, Georgia comes alive with Cherry Blossoms!

For the last 33 years, it has held it's International Cherry Blossom Festival. The event last for 10 days.
On Saturday,my hubby and I met 2 of my sisters to attend. They live in this quiet southern town. It's also the town I lived in where I met and married, a little over 51 years ago. We got my hubby to take photo's of us.

There I am on the right.

The street is lined with trees between Mulberry St. and Cherry Street. It is so beautiful!

 Pretty soft pink blossoms!

There are over 300,000 Yoshino Cherry Trees planted around town. It is by Congressional Records referred to as the Cherry Blossom Capital of the world. You can read about it, just click on the link below:

There is so much to do and see. We spent several hours walking and looking.  They even went back on Sunday.

The town is filled with Pink Cherry blossoms everywhere, they even have a "Pink Trash Can" ! Just what every girl wants, right?

Isn't it cute...!

In honor of the Festival, I am using my  Cherry Blossom teacup my daughter, Gina, gave me a few years ago.

I love the details on the flowers and the spoon is so delicate.

Just a little blurred...sorry!

I am having an Orange and Cranberry scone along with my cup of Green Tea.

Have a Blessed Day!
Sylvia

That is so neat to learn about the Cherry Blossom Festival! What a special event - and so special to you.

Love that unique old teacup and spoon. I don't believe I have ever seen one like it, Syl.

Have a blessed Holy Week, my sweet friend. Hugs.

The festival certainly looks like a fun spring event and so nice you were able to enjoy it with your sisters. The Cherry Blossom Festival in San Francisco is taking place on April 11-12. I'm not sure I can get up there for it, but may host a themed Cherry Blossom tea at home. Your festival has the beauty of all of the actual trees. What a nice way to begin Holy Week with nature's beauty. Happy Easter! ~Nora

Aren't the cherry trees beautiful? We have three blooming in our own front yard right now, but they are beginning to lose their blossoms now and the pink petals look lovely on the ground too! I like to walk on them and I feel like a princess! xx

What a beautiful, beautiful place and event, to visit.

So happy that the weather cooperated too! Photos would not have been so lovely, if it was a soggy, raining day. :-)

So beautiful!!! I didn't know they grew cherries in Macon! Or are they the ornamental type? Either way, so gorgeous!! Thank you for sharing them with us. Between the peach blossoms and the cherry blossoms, George is all blossomed out and beautiful! So lovely! Love your tea cup too.
