Christmas Present - Hope

Today I've been given "Hope"
Yes, there is hope for me!
Even though my living room looks like this-

I've taken down Autumn decor but not much
Christmas decorations going up.
All this 'mess' is packing for our move in a couple weeks.

I have managed a couple things to put out to keep reminding me it's Christmas. But then Christmas is a heartfelt time, not just decorations.

This was my breakfast this morning,as I had my daily devotion.
Sweet Potato Pie and Earl Gray Tea.

I love my 'Spode, Christmas Tree' Trio.

I will 'sing' praises for I have been given
 "Hope"

I sat down with my Bible and "Our Daily Bread" book this morning for my devotion, with my pie and tea in hand. God has used the writers of this little book to teach me and lead me so many times.
This morning in the quietness of my livingroom, in my favorite chair, I opened my bible and as I did the word, "HOPE" filled my mind as if it was floating around in my head, I only had to reach out and grab it. So I did!

I realized there is hope, in our Lord, we just need to claim it by faith.  He's always there, His spirit remains faithful even when we douth. I was reminded to put my 'faith and trust' in Him, his plans are always for my good.

Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for,
the evidence of things not seen.

God has  been faithful in the valleys of my life, as well as when I was on the mountain top.
It's in the valleys where we learn the most, if we are willing to listen with our hearts.

Praise God, He's always been there in the storms of my life, as He promised.

Proverbs 3:3-5
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding: In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths"

There is security in knowing my Lord will lead me each day. I just have to be willing to follow where ever he leads.

Dear Lord, wherever you lead us,
may I always love and serve you
with all my heart.
Amen

Have a Blessed Day,

Sylvia

Sylvia, Hope is good. Your faith is strong...so you should have hope. My thoughts are with you as you do your packing...it's not easy and yet who could help us if they ask every few minutes..do you want to keep this? Or is this going? LOL...that is why I had to pack up 35 years of things from my house in town to move to the country. It was a long process. Bless your sweet heart, xoxo,Susie

Dear Sylvia what a blessing to read your post today's! Thank you for sharing your devotions with us to bring us good cheer for He HAS overcome this world! My devotions were along similar lines in Romans 8 especially the last verses, when nothing can separate us from the
Love of God which is in Christ!
Have a blessed day!

Sylvia,

Thank you so much for your comments on LAWN TEA, and for sending me the link. A SO admire and hope to emulate your calm refuge of learning and study amidst all the bustle of the season---many years ago we "moved into" our new house on CHRISTMAS EVE. We had beds all made up and the kitchen and bathrooms stocked, and SANTA came THERE in the new house for the first time.

I've missed you, and hope you all the quiet calm joys with this Blessed Season.

Dear Sylvia,
I feel for you, my dear, planning a move at this time of year! Well, any time of year, but especially at Christmastime. {We moved about fifteen times and will be down-sizing hopefully next year.} You have chosen well to not get discouraged but to trust in Him and by trusting in Him and in His word, you are given the gift of hope. You are blessed! I too, read Our Daily Bread and it is always a blessing to me as well.
Your Christmas Tree teacup is adorable and I love your cottage teapot! Thank you for sharing and joining my little party. Have a wonderful week, my friend, and may God richly bless you!

Hugs,
Sandi

Thanks for reminding me of the Hope we all have in Christ Jesus. It's what keeps me going in the good times and the bad times. The Hebrew scripture is one of my favorites. Your pie and tea and devotional looks and sounds very inviting, I would have loved to have shared this special time with you. Praying all goes well with your move. ((hugs))

Yes- Hope is the one thing that keeps burning ahead of me and lets me move forward when I feel like I am living in limbo sometimes. I think without hope in the Lord we really have nothing.
I have the Spode dishes, too, and dearly love them. Mine are coming out to play tomorrow, I HOPE! xo Diana
