Yard Work

The past few weeks when I could and it wasn't 100 degrees or over outside,
I have tried to get the weeds out of my flower beds.

I moved my small bird bath from the front yard. I had it too
far away from the house and always forgot to fill it with water.
It has got to where it leaks and doesn't hold water more that a
couple days, so it needs filling ofter,  I like it here close to the
back door.

I love Angel's Trumpet's. This year it has grown taller than years
before.

My hubby always wants me to plant a tomato brush in my
flower bed.  This year I only planted one. It has given us
enough for the two of us.

July and I still have an Iris trying to live in this heat!
They ususally are the first flower to bloom here in
the south where I live.

My furry kids watches me from afar, but Milo decides to come
investigate a little closer.

Here he is checking out my work.

My Oriental Lily didn't do as good this year. Suppose it
has been too hot for it.

The Hosta's always does good, they love it under the eve
of the front porch.  I had to replant the flowers in the boxes
my hubby built for me a few years ago, something ate them.
We do have deer that comes up in the yard..

I found these little cedar trees coming up near the large Cedar
in the front yard.  I plan to transplant them in the fall.  I think
there are 5 or 6 of them.  The birds must have dropped seeds.
They build their nest in the Cedar tree.

Maybe when the weather gets cooler near the end of summer I'll
get to do more.

HAVE A BLESSED DAY!

You have a wonderful garden, Sylvia.

You are right - it's just been a much too unbearably hot summer to get out and weed much.

It FINALLY rained today - and is overcast right now, praise be to the Lord! We need(ed) rain big time!

It's still hot and humid but did go down a notch, thank goodness.

Such a lovely garden and yard. I know how you feel about gardening in the summer. We've just been trying to keep things alive and growing in between rains. Fortunately, we have been getting some fairly consistent rains this summer, so that has been a big help! Since we moved here in Feb. of this year, we haven't been able to go all out in planting as much as I'd like to, but we've gotten off to a pretty good start. Next year should be better. Thank you for sharing your garden with us. It gave me some good ideas. Remember on these hot days that fall is not too far away! That's what I am living for!!!

Thanks Michele, It is hot even tho it rains about every afternoon here in the last few days. It doesn't bring the temperature down much, and we do need rain.

Pamela, I am so ready for fall! There is still yard work then. I need to prume trees and bushes, and transplant the little cedars. Always something to do around the house.

Thank you Nancy, I do enjoy yard work but not the soreness it gives, but it gives back in the beauty of the flowers.

Hello, dear.
So glad to have you visit me this morning.
I enjoyed your photos and especially love the ones of your fur babies!
We FINALLY got some needed rain. It was in the middle of the night so I didn't get to enjoy the pitter patter of the rain drops. It's been soooooooo hot and dry here! I have been praying for rain. We lost two of our big trees last yr and the yr before..... so, that hasn't helped. Heat like this damages all the hard work I put in during the previous months. I hope it recovers in the fall. I think I need to plant another tree! or two!
Have a wonderful day!
Elizabeth

P.S. Where in the south do you live? My family is from the south (Arkansas, Louisiana, Alabama and Georgia). My parents and I are in MO.

It is hard to do the outdoor work when it's over 100 degrees! I don't see how landscapers do it!! I love your yard and your beautiful furry kids. Oh, and you have lovely deer that come to your yard. That's special. I tried planing tomatoes in my side yard, but the squirrels would take off with them! We never got even one. LOL! Gotta love the animal kingdom! Thanks for coming to visit me. I'm still in a little haze, but forging through.
God bless you,
Brenda

Hi Sylvia,
Your garden looks lovely. We moved our bird bath from the back yard to the front a week ago. We're hoping that will keep the crows out of our back bed. They picked off every flower and Hubby and I have given up on a garden this year because of it. Thank you for your visit and enjoy your weekend.

Blessings,
Sandi

Brenda, I have a squirrel problem with them eating the bird seed out of the feeder and the birds don't get much. I have given up on feeding them, I do enjoy their visit to my yard. I have lots of trees so I can hear them, but they don't come as often since I don't feed them.
