Tuesday Talk, A Bowl of Lemons

I remember when my now 15 year old grandson, JC and his sister Morgan, was spending the night with us.
He was around 7 at the time, and they always called their mother to say goodnight.
As he was talking to her, I heard him tell her
"maybe tomorrow we can make Lemonade, Grandma has lots of lemons".
I couldn't help but smile!
You see I kept a bowl of plastic lemons
on the table by the phone. As he hung the phone up I said "JC, the lemons are Fake, they aren't real".
He had to pick one up to see.

It's the same in life today.  In the media and all around us there's fake news, fake friends and  so much in today's society that isn't real.
Then how are we suppose to know what is the truth!
I believe we are to seek God and His truth, by reading His words to us in the Bible, praying and asking for His wisdom.

2 Timothy 2:15
"Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the truth."

"Show me thy ways, O Lord, teach me thy paths,
Lead me in thy truth, and teach me...."
Psalms 25:4-5

O Lord, today show me the way I show go, to follow you and always seek to live according to your truths!
Amen

Have a Blessed Tuesday!
Sylvia

Such a cute memory....I remember a cousin taking a bit out of one of mother's fake apples when we were young!

I agree with you that we have to be careful who/what we listen to....so important that we seek the Lord's guidance in everything we do.

I wish you a blessed day! Are you making lemonade today???? lol lol

That is such a cute story about JC, precious memories!! I so agree with you, our only hope is Jesus Christ. Our strength comes from Him. Our armor is His Word. One thing for sure, He is true and His Word is true. Hope you have a terrific Tuesday.

Syl, this is a really wonderful post, old friend. You are spot-on right - only through God in truth will we ever know for sure. God's blessings to you.

(And those lemons look sooooo real!) : - )

Great post, Sylvia. It really made me smile. I had a bowl of 'pears' on a low table and each one of them has a 'bite' of some sort as one kid or another tested to see if they were real. So funny. Oh- to be able to tell what is real all the time, huh? Blessings- xo Diana

Sylvia, this is lovely post filled with a smile and wisdom! Knowing God is the only real Way of knowing the difference between what is true and false. I've had apples filling a bowl at different times over the years. Thanks for a great post.

Blessings,
Sandi

I think about this often, Sylvia, that there are so many things out there that aren't real, and we live in a fast paced world sometimes. But the one thing we can always count on is our Father. His love never changes. This is a beautiful post today and I appreciated it very much.
