Chatter Monday!

Good morning! Want you come in for a visit!
Nothing much going on today.  Just small talk!

I love my guest room, it's where the sun comes shinning in each morning, so bright  and welcoming.

I find myself sitting in the chair next to the window often. It is so calming to have a place where I can enjoy the quiet and the sunrise and light rays shining  in.

Collecting dolls use to be a hobby of mine, but I just enjoying looking at them in the stores now.

 Two of my  dolls enjoy it also. 

They sit on the bed looking so pretty.

A good friend gave me the one on the right, she passed away a few years ago, and is missed.

 Look at those pretty blue eyes on her.

My sister, Linda gave me the one on the left for Christmas several years ago. She actually pugs in and moves her hand and head.

This morning they are waiting for their morning Tea! Have you had yours yet!

No, I haven't turned my pillow sham on the wrong side,

it's a wrinkle where I didn't iron it. I guess I am getting a little forgetful in my 'olden' age!

A Special Day

Today was a special day for me, I had my daughters and grandchildren for lunch. I made finger foods and desserts.  Also strawberries and grapes.

Chicken Salad Croissants

My daughter Gina, brought me Roses!!

My other two daughters brought me candy.

My sweet granddaughter, Anna brought me 

the heart shape "I Love You" balloon you see in the first photo. She is soon to be 14 in a few weeks and is so precious!!

Oh and what made the day extra special!

My sister and her husband had been visiting my other sister an hour away, for the weekend, and they stopped by on their way home and had lunch with us also. You see last October they moved to Alabama, and I hadn't seen her since then. 

It was a very Special Day,

then every day spent with those you love is Special!

Valentine Friendship Tea

A couple weeks ago I got a phone call from a friend, she invited me to a Friendship tea at her home today.  Jane and I worked together and have been friends since 1992, but now that I live about 40 minutes away we don't see each other as often as we would like.

She invited a few of her other friends also, I had already met a couple of them before. It's always nice to make new friends.

Jane has a lovely home and it was decorated pretty with lots of tea pots and tea cup, along with other Valentine items also.

Her living room was pretty and inviting as always.

Down the hall was her first guest bedroom, dressed and looking like a B&B.

Wouldn't you love to spend the night in this room.

She has always wanted to open a B&B.

In her Den she had a Valentine tree with hearts for a centerpiece on her smaller table. The little boxes around it was treats for her guest to take home.

She had asked me to come early before the others so we could catch up on 'girl talk'.

I took a few photo's before the others arrived and she hadn't yet finished getting ready.

Enclosed in a cabinet was a Valentine card from a friend.

I took her a card and Tulips along with a box of goodies, which I forgot to take a photo of.

She loves these wire cage thingy's, I really don't know what they are called, but they are pretty.

The food was delicious! 

 There was so much to eat.

Veggie Plate with Dip

 Cream Cheese and pineapple heart shaped sandwiches.

Miniature cinnamon rolls.

Chocolate covered Oreo bites.

 Banana Nut Bread

  

All kinds of sweets!

I didn't get photo's of everything, since the other guest arrived and everyone was talking and having a good time. One of the ladies wanted to learn how to 'skip', so there was a few minutes that we all was remembering our childhood, as Jane taught her how to skip. 

Time went by so fast and I was a little later getting home than what I told my hubby I would be. I did bring him a plate of food home so he was happy!

Do you know that heart disease kills more women than cancer! 1 in 3 women die each year from this disease yet it is 80% preventable. We should all keep a check on our Cholesterol levels, exercise more to lose weight, change our eating habits and talk to our doctors about our heart.

 So today I will wear Red to support Heart Health!

A New Month

I love butterflies! They remind me of new beginnings.  Today is the beginning of a new month, and that reminds me of spring flowers. It won't be long now till we can see them coming up from the ground. I am in a new place this year so I don't know what or if anything will come up from the ground here, that has been planted in the past.

I thought I would post some photo's of the flowers I had at my old home. Maybe it will brighten the day!
