Make Each Day Beautiful

Make Each Day Beautiful

Sometimes it takes
a really beautiful day
to wake us up to the wonders
of the world around us.
A blossoming flower,

 a sunny sky~

sometimes
these are the only things
our eyes look for
and value as worthwhile...

But there is so much more
to life,
so much more to enjoy,
if we can learn to see
with our hearts as well
as our eyes...

To be aware of each day,
each experience,
as a separate wonder
of it's own,
to meet each challenge eagerly
and grasp each moment
with a sense of newness
and discovery~
this is what living
is really all about.

Enjoy this Beautiful Day the Lord has blessed us with, before long fall will be here. I am looking forward to cooler air and the beautiful colors we'll
be blessed with.

 Be Blessed!

Life's A Peach and Bees Sting

I took this photo at Dickey's Peach Farm
a few weeks ago. I love to visit there and
get some of there peaches. They also have
peach ice cream!

But first let me tell you what happened to
me this morning.  I was watering my hanging
basket that was next to my fennel. All of a
sudden I felt a sting on my arm.

I hadn't notice that my fennel was covered
with these little stingers!!
 Bumble Bees!

 photo from about.com

I guess I'll take notice from now on!

Here they are on my fennel.
It's been over 5 hours and it still hurts.

When we got home from church yesterday
my new neighbor and friend, Lisa, had left
me a half dozen of the prettiest and largest
peaches, at my door. She had gone to Dickey's!
(boy am I glad I had told her about them)

We had eaten 2 of them that day, with only 4 left
I decided to make a peach cobbler. (I had to pamper myself a little, after all I had a sore arm)

 Here's how you make it.

Cut up your peaches. I used 4 but they are
large. If they are small use 1 or 2 more.

Melt 1 stick butter.

 Mix together
1 cup flour,(I use self rising)
1cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup milk

 That's it !!
Just pour the mixture into the butter, but don't stir!

Drop the sliced peaches onto the mixture, don't stir!
The dough will rise to the top.
Bake in preheated oven at 350 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes or until brown on top.

Extra good with vanilla bean ice cream!

Enjoy and
Have a Blessed Day!

America Rose is Climbing

This spring I bought an 'America' climbing rose and planted it to grow over my arbor. I am enjoying watching it grow, so I thought maybe you might enjoy seeing it's process. The color is so pretty and 6 blooms right at the top!

Here it is when I first planted it.

It has grown up the side almost to the top.

I also bought a pink hydrangea at the same time, I was hoping it would stay pink, but it looks like it may be coming back blue and that makes me 'blue'.  I love both but I already have a blue one on the side of my house.

Have a Blessed Day!

Hope for Tomorrow

When you hear that someone has 'Cancer" it doesn't matter where it is found, Cancer is Cancer, my heart goes out to that person. My Mother had breast cancer and my husband had throat cancer just last year, so I understand what it is to deal with this awful disease. My Mother passed away in 1980, praise God my hubby is cancer free but still has to go every 3 months for check ups.

I am asking that if you would go to Bj's blog at Sweet Nothings and read, then share the link there. There is a lady Heather Von St.James, that was diagnosed with Mesothelioma in 2005 and given only 15 months to live. With treatment she is still here today!!  She has a mission to make awareness of this terrible cancer .

Thanks,and
Have a Blessed Day!

My Favorite Donut Shoppe

Can you guess my favorite Donut?

Yes, you guessed right !!

When we drive up to the next town to get our car washed, just up the road is a Dunkin Donut Shoppe.
A trip to it always delights me!
So yesterday was our day to get the car cleaned up,
Wednesday is discount day!

Did you know that in 1950, Bill Rosenburg, opened the first Dunkin Donut shop in Quincy, Mass. It's the world's leading baked goods and coffee chain, according to their website.

They sell 52 varieties of donuts.
Don't you just want to bite into this yummy chocolate creme filled delight!

There are more than 11,300 stores world wide and more than 8,000 in 41 states and DC....wonder why the other 9 don't get to enjoy these delightful treats!!

Boston Creme is my hubby's favorite..,
I think this is my favorite......

The Apple Fritter !!

Just look at those apples oozing out of it!

And a cup of Cappuccino goes great with it.

Next time you see a Dunkin Donut sign, pull in and enjoy! You won't be sorry you did,  until you step on the scales.

HAVE A BLESSED DAY!

In Our Own Garden

In the Garden
Charles A. Miles

I come to the garden alone,
While the dew is still on the roses
And the voice I hear falling on my ear,
The Son of God discloses.
And He walks with me,
 and He talks with me,
 And He tells me I am His own;
And the joy we share as we tarry there,
None other has ever known.
He speaks, and the sound of His voice
Is so sweet the birds hush their singing,
And the melody that He gave to me
Within my heart is ringing.

I’d stay in the garden with Him,
Though the night around me be falling,
But He bids me go; through the voice of woe
His voice to me is calling.

In Our Own Garden
author unknown

Our lives are like a garden
And a lovely place indeed,
Where understanding is the soil,
Affection is the seed...

And if we tend each little plant
With love and hope and care,

We'll share the flowers
of friendship,

For they'll bloom
and flourish there!

 Kind hearts are the garden,
Kind thoughts are the roots,
Kind words are the flowers,
Kind deeds are the fruits.

Have a Blessed Day!
