CHRISTMAS TOUR OF HOMES

November 30 - December 1, I attended the Madison, Georgia Christmas Tour of Homes. There were so many beautiful historic homes on the tour, so I am just posting my favorite ones.  I took 98 pictures, I can't post of all them. My sister Doris and I enjoyed the tour and our time together.

This is the Heritage Hall Living room.  A portrait of one of the former owners of the home, which is now the home of the historical society.

We did go inside this house but I forgot to take a picture at the time so I just took one as we drove by.

This was my favorite room in the house.  I love the black French accents.

So many tablescapes, that was so pretty! As my sister and I were looking at this one, the local newspaper was taking pictures and asked if he could take ours, maybe our picture will make the paper!

There were so many beautiful homes and decorated so pretty!  This home is featured in a Madison, Morgan County Book.

Victorian Christmas Teacup

Our hearts grow tender with childhood memories and love of kindred,
and we are better throughout the year for having,
in spirit, become a child again at Christmastime.

by: Laura Ingalls Wilder

I love Christmas with all the joyful songs and trimmings, but I do give out easy these days, so after getting up early and starting my day decorating I stopped after a couple hours and had a tea break.
I love this Victorian Christmas teacup I found a few weeks ago while shopping.

This is the stamp on the back of the saucer, Johnson Bros. since 1883.  On the cup was the barcode label that read "Victorian Christmas teacup."

With my Nutri-Grain  Cereal bar I had Twinnings Breakfast tea.

The tablecloth, I found last year on clearance for only a couple dollars.

In the center is a large manger scene and a smaller one along the edges.

Hope your day is going good and you're filled with the spirit of Christmas!

Here comes Christmas!

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.  As always I ate too much and with 14 at my house I didn't have time to relax or work off any of it.  It's always a blessing when all my children are here.  But now  it's time to focus on getting ready for Christmas.  I am slowly starting but haven't done much
yet.  My tree is up but not decorated.  We spent three days in a cabin at Fort Yargo State Park the first of the week with my sister, Doris and her husband Bill.  One day we got out and shopped a little.
Thrift stores naturally, I found these two deer grazing around without a  home so I brought them
home with me.  They were only $1 each.

I really didn't like the old brass color so I spray painted them white.
They are candle holders but don't think I'll put candles in them.

I think they look better white, they go better with my winter theme.  The tree was a find also
for just 50 cents.

What do you think?  Oh well too late I've already painted them.  I found another deer ($1) that I can't decide what to do with,  paint or not?

I have always used deer somewhere in my decorations.  Any suggestions?

I did this arangement this morning.  Red birds are another thing that I love to add.
It'll take all week to get it looking like christmas around here.

HAVE A BLESSED DAY!
