Afternoon Tea Break

This saying by Edmund Waller came from my little "Afternoon Tea" book.
(book by The Clever Factory,Inc.)

Sometimes after a day of cleaning, washing and cutting grass you need a break, A Tea Break. I made chocolate chip cookies and made myself a cup of Afternoon Tea.  I was feeling adventurous and decided to try and make my cookies small and placed them on a cookie sheet with a wire rack....oops should not have done that. They melted through the rack and did not turn out so well.  It doesn't matter how they look, they were still good.

Here is the stamp on the bottom of the teacup, "Duchess"  made in England.

Teapot & Tea Calendar for 2013

Thanks to Angela over at Tea with Friends.blogspot for posting, this morning, that Scott's Bookstore in Newnan, has in the  " Teapot & Tea Calendar for 2013".   I asked my hubby if he would like to take a road trip and he agreed one was just right for today. So off to Newnan, a little over an hours drive, and there were only  three left,  now there's only a couple left.  This is one of  my favorite months. I was so excited about the calendar and the pretty pictures that I forgot to take one of the cover.

My birthday is August, here is the one for it.

I don't think I've had or seen this tea before.

This is the back cover of the Calendar, with all the months.
My lighting in my room wasn't too good but the pictures on the calendar are very  pretty.
They would do great to frame them once the month is over.

It's TeaTime!

(picture from Capital Tea)

For my friends birthday last year, I had a Tea for her.  We live
miles apart and don't get to see each other often, so for her
birthday I invited her for Tea.

I made homemade chicken salad, with fruit and broccoli salad.
We enjoyed a glass of sweet peach tea and had it hot also.

The owner of the Tea Room that I love to go to nearby told
me how to make the teapot bread.  Just cut out the bread with
the cookie cutter and spread with melted butter and sprinkle
a little sugar on top.  Bake it in on 350 degrees until brown.
You may want to put it on a wire cookie sheet so it'll brown on
both sides.

This is my friend Runette,  her husband has cancer and is not doing
so well.  I wanted to honor her today.  She is on my mind and heart
these days and praying for her.

Have a Blessed Day!

Outside my Window Sunday Blessings

"Let Love be without hypocrisy,Abhor what is Evil. Cling to what is Good."  Proverbs 12:9

As I was enjoying my quiet time this morning reading my Bible and journal, as I try to do each morning,  I was reminded of how we all will have times in our lives when Life sends us sprawling out of  control. The way we respond demonstrates  our faith. The measure of true victory is to totally trust God. If we are not careful, the tragic events can leave us jaded, forgetting Who our God is and the role we should allow Him to play in our lives.  When we or our country drift away from  a passionate pursuit of God in the midst of adversity, we will fail and suffer... I am joining Michele at The Nest at Finch Rest in praying for our country, it's leadership and the people that are suffering from whatever the reason or cause. Turning to our Lord in difficult times reinforces our strength and hope.  As Paul tells us in Romans 12:9 ( KJV Bible)  "Cling to what is good"

Outside my Kitchen window,

I am blessed to see the sun shining on a beautiful Sunday morning.

Through the screen of my kitchen window I am reminded of God's goodness
and love that He shows by sending the sunshine and the rain, and the beauty of
His nature.

Out my front door,

Milo watches over our yard.  Pets are a blessing also, they show us so much love and companionship.

After the rain,

sometimes we complain when it rains, but we need it and God's sends it in His time.
The mushrooms in my yard remains me that "All things are to our good, in His timing"

And most important the Love of Family and friends.  I am so blessed to have both. I spent the day yesterday with my girls shopping and  enjoying each others company.  Here I am with my granddaughter, Morgan Elizabeth, getting a manicure.  I do believe this was  my first one.

Jeremiah 33:3
"Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know".

Pray for God's Blessings and His will for our country!

Have a Blessed Day!

Birthday Breakfast Tea

Tomorrow is my birthday, and since I have an early eye appointment  and then off to another town for my husbands Cardio Vascular doctor, I may not be home tomorrow.  He's taking me out to eat and to a movie after his appointment.  This morning I made a batch of banana nut muffins and carried them outside to eat. At first glance of my Angel Trumpet I knew I had to bring my little table out and sit under it.

My daughter gave me this August Teacup and saucer one year for my birthday, I'll always treasure it. I am not sure what the flower is on it, kinda looks like a bleeding heart, not sure, but I did look up the flower for August and it is the Gladiola, and this isn't one.

Here it is up closer

Since it was just me (my hubby goes to Hardee's for a biscuit) I made banana nut muffins to eat with my  Tea of Life 'berry patch' tea, that I bought when camping (in a cabin) last month..  I loved the flavor of the tea!

I found this muffin "cake plate" when out shopping, don't remember where, just thought it was so cute but will only hold one jumbo muffin.

My sister gave this musical rose basket when I did the flowers for her weddings.  It plays "Memories"
Love hummingbird's and roses!

I had just gotten my September/October Victoria magazine, so I took it outside with me to look at.

Thanks for sharing my birthday breakfast!

Have a Blessed Day!

Victorian Shoe & Praise

Let your eyes look right on, and let your gaze be straight before you.  Watch the path of your feet, and let all your ways be estabished.  Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove your foot from evil.  Proverbs 4:24-27

This post is about the lesson I have learned in the last three days.   No matter what the  trails we go thought, don't take your eyes off Jesus, keep your ways and walk with Him.  HE is in control and will work it all to your good if you love Him and trust it to Him!

The last few days my husband and I have been dealing with a personal situation of extreme concern. But thanks be to God, he took control and all turned out OK..

This shoe represents my walking in faith trusting my Lord to be my help in my times of trouble.

Lamentations 3:22-23
It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

My daughter gave me these shoes for Mother's Day this year.  I really don't know what they are to be used for.  They look like they are made of plaster, but I'm not sure.

This is the back and front.

I am using this one to keep pencils and pens in for now.
It isn't opened all the way down the shoe, just in the top.

Maybe a small potted plant could be placed in it.

Got any ideas!

HAVE A BLESSED DAY!
